Two chefs join the dynamic team of the Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino. Executive Chef Stephen del-Amen and Pastry Chef Neil Vano bring in new flavors to the gastronomic selections of UNO, Cafe Fortuna, Lobby Lounge and Room Service.
Raised in La Trinidad Benguet, Chef Stephen hold a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. His interests on food and health paved way to his culinary career. His passion for food did not stop in the kitchen; he had his stint in the academe as Culinary instructor in St. Louis University-Baguio and University of Cordilleras. Prior to joining Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino, he was the Executive Chef of Sol Marina Resorts in Boracay.
A BS Psychology graduate, Chef Neil started his eagerness to learn baking and listed himself for cross-training program in Pastry while working with Shangri-La Mactan Resort and Spa’s lobby shop. When an opportunity came in, he then applied to be transferred to the pasty kitchen as Service Associate under the leadership of renowned Pastry Chef Gabriel Garcia.Equipped with creativity, Chef Neil was awarded with Silver Medal of Distinction in the 2008 Cebu Goes Culinary – Plated Dessert Category. Chef Neil was the Pastry Chef of Waterfront Insular Davao prior to joining Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino.
