Right after Gillian (bydetails.blogspot.com) and I chose a winner for Waterfront Cebu’s Easter Egg design contest, I suddenly had a latte craving. So I drove straight to this new cafe in Lahug. Still on it’s soft opening, this week old cafe looks promising. But I don’t want to get my hopes up until I get to try their offerings.
The cashier and the waiter welcomed me with smiles as I approach the counter. I smiled back and greeted them both a good afternoon. I ordered cafe latte then asked the waiter for food suggestions. He tipped Beef Stroganoff Pasta, Cheesesteak Sandwich and Twin Chops. Initially thought of ordering the Chicken Parmigiana but remembered that my 40 day of no pork , no beef lent sacrifice ended today. I totally deserve a big sandwich brimming with juicy beef strips smothered with lotsa’ cheese! Aha! Cheesesteak sandwich it is!
I chose to laze at the comfy looking couch with hindi looking patterns at one end of the cafe, where I leeched some power to charge my iPhone. Teehee 😛 . And have you noticed the inverted-coffecup hanging lamps? Pretty neat right?
Opposite from where I’m loafing and sipping on my latte, is a very colorful door. And no it’s not a portal to Neverland or to the Easter Bunny’s den but the toilet. ^_^
Though I’d say this to a cupcake and not my cup of coffee(referring to the quote on the wall beside the magical toilet door), I have to say the uneven textured wall’s clever.
And this is the snuggest looking couch in the cafe. And its situated just beside this very French looking office door. ^_^
Do not judge this latte by its looks because it does taste good. I love how its frothy, bold but smooth and creamy at the same time. Cafe Latte, 85php. Also available in cold variety at 130php.
Cheesesteak Sandwich, 195php. Beautifully served on a wooden chopping board, thinly sliced beef, caramelized onions with cheese sauce on a 6-inch bun. I love how juicy the beef slices were, and it did go well with the caramelized onions but the cheese sauce could have been a bit cheesier and thought it might need a bit more pepper to taste. But hey, that’s just me and thats how I prefer my Cheesesteak Sandwich. 😉
Well, this is just my first visit and will definitely visit again to make a follow up review. But so far, I give a thumb up to the very attentive and friendly staff during my visit. I enjoyed my latte and am intrigued and excited to try their other coffee concoctions. And the cafe’s decor and homy ambiance are pluses as well.
I personally think that the type of music played in a restaurant/cafe somehow defines a restaurant/cafe. And I hope they’d be able to compile a better playlist. ^_^
Anyone would like to try Tazza’s Hazelnut latte with me next time? 🙂
