The photo below is a screen capture from the Department of Tourism Central Visayas Facebook page notifying that the canyoneering site in Barangay Compostela in the Municipality of Alegria, and in Barangay Matutinao in the Municipality of Badian is temporarily closed and all activities related thereto are also suspended.
The closing of the site and suspension of activities took effect since the outset of June 2016 and is until August 1, 2016.
On an online chat with Canyoneering Guide Raymund Sande mentioned, “It will only be a two-month suspension. When it goes operational on August 2016, tourists can expect a fixed rate and an even safer, more fun experience.”
This proactive approach of making the site secure for everyone is something that is beneficial for both the tourists and the guides.
Canyoneering has become one of the most popular nature attractions in the southwest of Cebu, attracting many Cebuanos, and domestic and foreign tourists as well.
