With its promise of an upscale experience yet value for money, Solea Mactan Cebu Resort surprisingly offers affordable overnight stays starting at only 5,000 bucks. Ritzy amenities like a business center, airport transfers, health club and sports & recreation activities, checking in at Solea is worth every penny.
The Solea experience starts the moment you step in at the lobby. It’s resort chic ambiance is very welcoming that it got me giddy to explore the property even more. The front desk staff were friendly, making the check-in process a breeze. But what really made me say WOW was the moment I walked in to our room.
THE PRESIDENTIAL SUITE
My first time staying in Solea Mactan, I shared the Presidential Suite with five blogger friends. The suite is a huge room with an open house concept that features a spacious living area and a dining space, with two rooms situated at opposite sides – a Master’s Bedroom and a Twin Room. And yes, each corner of the suite is super pretty and very instagrammable.
The view from the balcony is pretty amazing as well. You can see the entire property from up the porch. I can imagine how majestic the sunrise would be on a clear sunny morning. It was a gloomy, cloudy morning during our stay, and Mr. Sun was a bit shy.
SOLEA’S ALL-DAY DINING
Earth, the resort’s all-day dining outlet, exudes a contemporary chic feel, identical to the lobby’s aura. Beautiful wooden geometric pattern on the center ceiling blends in well with the wooden furniture accented with hues of dodgerblue and wheat upholstery.
The group literally staycationed at the property, hanging out at the resort the entire time. And a wonderful stay wouldn’t be complete without good food. Earth All-Day Dining offers a buffet feast and an ala carte bill of fare.
Had buffet three times during the duration of our overnight stay – for dinner, breakfast and lunch. The buffet had several stations, including a salad bar, a variety of stations – Japanese, grill, international cuisine, pasta, noodle, Filipino street food, Korean-, and a dessert spread which includes a make-your-own halo-halo station.
AROUND THE RESORT
One of Cordova’s hidden gems, Solea Mactan Cebu Resort is a place where one can enjoy a quiet, peaceful weekend, or cool down from the extreme temperature anytime with family and friends. There’re five pools in the resort. There’s a lagoon where one can kayak and do stand-up paddle. There’s also a sandbar trail ideal for morning jogs and walks amidst a picturesque landscape.
The group’s overnight stay was brief yet fun. Solea’s Presidential Suite is pretty awesome, not to mention very photogenic. Though, I would strongly suggest that to be fully comfortable and absolutely enjoy your stay at The Presidential Suite, check-in with a maximum of 4 adults + 2 kids. But if six adults are good with the arrangement of two adults at the master’s bedroom and four at the twin room, then there’s no problem at all. There’s three comfy couches in the living room anyways. 😉
