Tea of Spring Eight Treasures Soup

Tea of Spring’s Executive Chef Bun Boon has prepared a special feast to usher in the Year of the Goat. Come join the prosperity dinner buffet happening on Chinese New Year’s Eve on February 18, 2015 at Tea of Spring. Priced at only 1,888PHP++ per person, the special dinner buffet highlights Oven-Roasted Beijing Duck, Tea of Spring Fresh Shrimp Dumpling, Szechuan Kung Pao Chicken with Peanuts and Imperial Hot and Sour Soup, among others.

On February 19, 2015, dining guests will witness a true feast for the senses with a traditional dragon dance at the resort’s main lobby at 11 a.m.

The Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is a traditional time for feasting with family and friends that dates back thousands of years. Food plays an important role on this occasion; thus, Tea of Spring’s Chinese Executive Chef Bun Boon Hoe will present a special “Chef’s Recommendation” menu from February 19 to 28, 2015. Available for both lunch and dinner, the menu will include time-honored dishes, such as Yee Sang, a raw fish salad made of marinated salmon and shredded vegetables traditionally served only on Chinese New Year.

During Chinese celebrations, the family table is commonly laden with a whole fish, symbolizing togetherness. However, the Chinese deem that it is best not to finish the entire fish because the excess heralds an abundance of wealth and prosperity for the coming year.

Chef Boon will serve Sautéed Live Lapu-Lapu Fillet with Crispy Osmanthus Tea Leaf to fulfill this essential part of the dining tradition. Tea of Spring’s Eight Treasure Soup, Stir-Fried Prawn with Shimeji Mushroom and Double-Boiled Baby Abalone with Black Sea Moss, among other specialties, will add authenticity to the celebration.

As a special treat to all dining guests, a “welcome back” voucher entitling the bearer to 20 per cent savings at the resort’s restaurants will be given to diners who avail the dinner buffet or order any item from the Chef’s Recommendation menu. One voucher will be given per guest check.
