Let me just start by sharing how I love the stunning gradient design of realme 6 pro‘s back is! I got the lightning red color variant and it looks really stylish and chic. Both the back and front are made with Gorilla Glass 5, which means it has less chances of getting scratches and scrapes! Look and feel of realme 6Pro is a win for me!
UNBOXING THE realme 6PRO
I only got my realme 6 Pro last week of May 2020. Packaged in a bright yellow box, it made me more giddy to just rip off the plastic, open the box and start using the phone. I’ve been using the realme 6Pro for over 4 weeks, mainly entertaining myself with its 6 cameras, and using it to play on a second, new account for Mobile Legends.
The package comes with the following:
1. (1) realme 6Pro, 128G memory
2. (1) Silicone case
3. (1) Type C Power Cord
4. (1) Power Supply Unit (Plug)
5. Quick guide booklet
6. Warranty Card
7. Pin Needle
realme 6Pro’s 6 Cameras
This post focuses on realme 6Pro camera capabilities in capturing stills and photos using its rear quad-camera , and dual selfie front camera. I am having fun playing with it for a month already, and I would say, I am impressed with its performance for a midrange phone – camera-wise and as a gaming unit.
4 Rear Cameras
realme 6Pro is packed with AI Quad rear cameras – 64 megapixel f/1.8, 12 megapixel f/2.5 telephoto, 8megapixel f/2.3 ultrawide and a 2MP f/2.4 macro. I’ve shared some of my captures on this post for you to inspect as you read along to visually see it’s performance, camera-wise.
PORTRAITS with realme 6Pro
The first thing I’ve horsed around with is realme 6Pro‘s portrait mode setting. Using the main 64MP camera which has bigger sensor than the other 5 cameras, expect this mode to give out better shot quality than the 12MP telephoto and 8MP ultrawide lenses. I like how good the sensor is in separating the subject and the background. It’s also easy to switch between subjects. Just click on the preferred subject, and it blurs out the others. This gives better focus on the subject, and make the subject stand out better.
Shooting with the 64MP Main Camera
Shooting with realme 6Pro’s main 64 camera is a delight when there’s good amount of light. Bright, vibrant and sharp photos even on the default setting. Stunning quality for a midrange phone.
Ultra Wide Angle Rear Camera
The 8megapixel f/2.3 ultrawide rear camera captures at about 30% more expansive than the width of the main camera, letting you capture a wider area. Expect pictures using this mode to be less brighter than the main 64MP camera.
Daylight Telephoto Shots 1x 2x 5x
realme 6Pro’s telephoto 12MP camera produces photos with lesser ‘brightness’ compared to the main 64MP camera. But I would give it credit for capturing true color quality, good contrast and sharpness with its 1x and 2x shots. On the other hand, the 5x photo has too much noise, and lost too much photo detail. Yet again, it’s a 12MP lens, and it has done a pretty well job in cancelling as much noise as it can and sharpening the image even at 5X zoom.
Night captures: Main Camera Vs. Night Mode
Used the 64 main camera and the night mode on the same spot, and it’s noticeable that night mode gives out a brighter shot that the main camera. The night mode comes real handy when shooting in lowlight conditions.
The macro camera on realme 6Pro is a 2MP f/2.4 lens, so I didn’t expect much from it to be honest. I’d personally use this shooting mode on a well lighted place to get sharper images. Expect shots to be a bit noisy, but hey, they turned out quite decent considering it’s a 2MP Macro cam. 😉
2 Front Cameras:
realme 6Pro‘s 16MP f/2.1 main front camera delivers well-lit and color balanced selfies, and the ultrawide 8MP f/2.2 is for sure very handy when shooting with a larger group of people and fit them on the frame at arms length. 🙂
The dual front camera gives you options in shooting with the main 16MP selfie camera and the 8MP ultrawide lens. The main camera delivers bright and sharp images when shooting in well-lit areas, and the ultrawide mode gives you a ample space to fit the entire family or barkada on a selfie shot.
The ultrawide selfie camera seems to have a higher contrast than the main selfie lens, and obviously a narrower shot than the main. Same as with most camera phones, shutter speed is reduced when shooting in lowlight conditions.
With 6 cameras, realme 6Pro is for sure colossal on photography hardware for its range. Shooting with the rear camera’s portrait mode is a charm, and I’d say one of its best features. The 64MP rear camera pulls off stunning shots, specially when shooting at the right conditions – and mainly with light as a factor. When it comes to selfies, this could be the one to beat. The macro, telephoto and ultrawide cameras hack it well in performing the most it can – sharpening the image quality and producing better color quality. No doubt, realme 6Pro is commendable for its photography capabilities, and the phone to get if you’re looking at midrange mobile phones for taking photos..
