Pole dancing has started to gain recognition in the Queen City of the South since 2016, when Cebuano dancer Phil Simon Infantado bagged the highest citation during the Singapore Pole Challenge in the Semi-Pro Male Division last year, beating 35 other international pole artists around the globe.

Though many don’t consider pole dancing to be a mainstream form of workout, there are several benefits of doing pole training that’ll make you think otherwise. Here are a few:
1.) Promotes faster burning of calories
Since pole dancing uses the muscles in the entire body and keeps you on the move during a class, it’ll make you burn calories faster. It’s like muscle training and cardiovascular exercise wrapped into one.
2.) Good for Bones and Joints
Pole dancing helps in developing stronger bones. During pole training, the constant use of hands to grip on the pole strengthens the muscles, and also keeps the joints healthy with your increased mobile activity.
3.) Good for the Heart
Like any other exercise, pole dancing supports healthy blood flow. It engages all the muscles in the body, including the heart through a good blood circulation.
4.) Bolster Physical strength
With one using all the muscles to maneuver from one stance to another, pole dancing will enhance ones arm and core strength. It’ll also enhance ones flexibility and endurance.
5.) Boost Confidence and Self Esteem
When you get the hang of pole dancing and by being consistent during training, one will not only gain skills, but a healthy figure as well.
6.) Alertness
Pole dancing needs presence of mind, thus improving ones concentration.
” There are no pre-requisite when doing Pole dancing. As long as you can follow instructions, then you are good and qualified,” Pole Sphinx Instructor Phil Simon shared. “You should also be consistent and determined to be able to attain the skills and achieve great results,” Infantado added.
