Around 120 minutes away from Mactan aboard a banka / boat , Pandanon Island is one of the favorite destinations when going island hopping in Mactan. Clear waters, white sand beach and a sandbar are a few of the reasons why Pandanon Island is a frequent island hopping destination. And not to mention the white columns looking like ruins from a temple in Greece where most visitors have their photos taken.
Pandanon Island may be not a great place to snorkel, but it’s still interesting to meet and observe the marine life around the island. Found a concentration of sea urchins a few meters away from the island and I noticed an interesting behavior from the fishes residing close to them. 🙂
How to get to Pandanon Island? You can hire a boat for island hopping in Mactan. Boat rental depends on your itinerary. One popular island hopping itinerary is Pandanon Island Bohol and San Vicente Olango Marine Sanctuary. Boat rental with that itinerary would be at 4,000php (boat can accomodate up to 30 people). Boat rental does not include entrance fees to Pandanon Island (Fee: 150php per person) and San Vicente Marine Sanctuary Environmental Fee (5ophp).
