Not very often that I drive along Don Gil road, we have gone astray and wandered for about 15 minutes looking for One Claypot House. Since the 3G signal was crappy, we used a lifeline and called our good friend Ethelbert to save us the trouble of ambling along Don Gil Street. We parked at 711 Capitol and then walked pass by 711 and another building and there it is, One Claypot House!
Entering the restaurant, you’d be transported from a Capitol street side feel to an intimate dainty dining milieu.
The humble restaurant accommodates less than 20 people, so better call and your reserve a table before coming in. With just 10 Thai and Singaporean dishes (1 appetizer, 3 soups, 1 wrap, 1hot pot, 2 pasta and 2 Pinoy favorites) on the menu, its not hard to pick what to order.
The only appetizer in the menu, Sawasdee Noodle Salad is One Claypot’s take on Thailand’s popular Glass noodle Salad. Cold dish made from starch based noodles with mixed veggies, seafood in a mild spicy dressing. (150php)
Matsya is parrot fish meat and pita bread topped with a special sauce made from herbs and yogurt. (250php) I actually pulled out 2 bones from the fish fillet, so be careful with those fish bones when ordering the dish. 🙂
Tempting Seafood Pasta. Fettucini in Olive oil with fresh prawns and tomatoes. (170php)
Lah-lah-lah Claypot. Mix of rice, chicken, pork, sausage and salted fish. (350php for the large) iLuvCebu.com recommends this dish!
Milky Bandung. Singapore’s milk flavored drink with rose syrup. (50php)
Buuurp. That was a great meal. Thank you for joining us on another piggin out session! Til our next food trip! 🙂
