As the name suggests, Luncheonette is a casual place for a quick, short lunch. The menu subsumes from breakfast-all-day items and comfort food favorites -from corned beef hash, spam and eggs and pancakes to hot sandwiches, like Reuben and Patty Melt, which basically is the love child of a burger and a grilled cheese, making you question how you went this far in life without it.

Yesterday, I went home so stuffed after sampling some items on the Luncheonette’s menu;  the Luncheonette Burger, Patty Melt, Jake’s Hot Chicken and Loaded Fries were my yesterday’s concluding fare, rolling my snacks and dinner in one meal.

The Luncheonette Burger is 5 1/2 ounce patty made with USDA Angus Chuck & Beef Brisket served on toasted ABC sesame bun with lettuse, tomato, onion, pickles and Luncheonette’s special sauce. Ordered bacon and egg add ons to make it even more delicious! (Price:295PhP + 55PhP Bacon add-on + 25PhP Fried Egg add-on)

THE MAPLE BURGER (475php), is a juicy grilled beef patty with American Cheese, lettuce pickles, tomatoes and mapled bacon – sided with onion rings and fries. The juicy patty was made more interesting with the sweet crunch of the mapled bacon.

BLACKENED CHICKEN (450php), is chicken breast with spicy cajun rub, grilled and served with creamed spinach, bacon and dirty rice. The tender chicken was a bit dry in the middle but is perfect with the creamed spinach.

THE MALE SALMON CATCH (550php), is fresh salmon fillet, lightly seasoned and then either grilled or pan seared or blackend to your liking, served with Texas vegetables and orzo pasta. And nope, that’s not rice – it’s pasta. ^_^

I was feeling a bit homesick after two weeks of vacationing, and dining at a new resto here in the metro would be the right way to welcome me back. It was a random dinner with my blogger friends Marco, Jeemah and Atty. Ethelbert and we had been talking about visiting this new rib place and twas about time we did.

Ribpublic is located at the road behind Coco Mall and is on your left when driving along the one way street. We tried 4 of 6 offerings on the menu. The Ribpublic, Wild West Wings, Space Shrimps and Pop! Fish and Chips.

Attentive and friendly staff is  always a plus to any restaurant and Ribpublic didn’t fall short in this area, smiling waiter and cashier just set the mood that its going to be a good dinner. 🙂

 

We started the meal with Ribpublic’s Pop! Fish and Chips (138php). 3 battered fish fillet with fries on the side and tartar sauce. I personally find both the fries and fish too oily than the usual. The fish could use a bit of a lemon slice and pepper to taste too.

Butter Garlic Space Shrimps (168php). The serving came with 12 pieces of shrimps in butter and garlic. Tasted good but this should not be served on wax paper, for the paper tends to soften as the oil sips in, and bits of wax paper mix with the butter oil as you scoop in.

Buffalo Wild West Wing (158php). This one would be my favorite at Ribpublic. 6 pieces of chicken wings with chili sweet sauce. Warning, at first bite, the spice might be a bit strong, but fades away very quickly and mellows down to sweetness. Also available in garlic parmesan.

And finally, The Ribpublic (188.00ph)! Smoky sweet ribs with rice and corn kernels on the side. Though its not the ‘meat falls off the rib’ kind, its serving size would give you a big burp.And  the smoky sweet flavor didn’t get through the the inside layer of the meat, so better ask for extra sauce.

Another thing I’ve noticed is that Ribpublic had chairs and tables set up on the sidewalk. I hope they can take it out, and let the sidewalk be used as a sidewalk. Plus it is a bit appalling, for the stench from the drainage can be smelled when seated at the sidewalk set up.

But I love the chalk art and the space mural inside the resto! And they have a clean restroom too!  <3

Can’t wait to try their garlic parmesan Wild West Wings and Sweet and Spicy Shrimps. ‘Til we meet again Ribpublic. ^_^

So it’s 3AM and I just finished packing for a trip to Shanghai later and can’t seem to doze off so I turned on my computer and blog about a series of unfortunate events turned awesome that happened earlier. Out of 6 things I was suppose to accomplish earlier, only half were completed. One important thing I didn’t get to do is get some Chinese moolah, which I was told by the very friendly people at the Southwinds Travel Agency to acquire before leaving (hello there Ms. Cookie ^_^) . Two of the money changers I went to had no Yuans, so decided to get dinner first and drop by Ayala to try my luck.

My friends Marco and Atty. Ethy had originally planned that we go to this two-week old Busay restaurant last Tuesday but everyone got tangled with work and all, so ’twas postponed this coming weekend. But since I will not be here this weekend and got some time to kill, headed to Busay and tried  Delice Recipes offerings.

The road  going up to Delice  was really  dark at that moment and was relieved as my car’s head lights caught the sign “Delice Parking Area.” I immediately made a right and parked. It was  just a yellow light across the street that seemed to give brightness in the area. Then Delice’s waiter walked towards me, informed me that there’s a power outage. “But there’s food right?,” I inquired hungrily. haha. And was glad when he replied, “Yes sir, we have!” Well, I took an effort of driving up to Busay so I better try the restaurant’s offerings out. 

All the waiters and waitresses were accommodating and welcoming.I was then escorted to my table and seated at the porch where I get to see a stunning view of Cebu lighted up for the night. And then it started to drizzle! Haha! And so I transferred to a table inside, near the bar.

The al fresco area/porch seats around 20, with  5  square tables (seats 4 each). And the function area has 2 long tables,  seating a total of 20 people. Then the bar area has several tables as well, and a staircase to the bed and breakfast rooms.

Ordered the Asian Salad and Chicken Parmigiana. Asian Salad (Price 260php). Mixed Greens, shredded carrots, sesame seeds, kani and nori in Asian dressing. Though I expected the asian dressing to be either a bit tangy or having a hint of sesame oil taste, but just  got a whiff of  sweet vinegar. The sesame seeds gave it a nutty taste and texture which I liked. The Chicken Parmigiana, 280php,  breaded chicken fillet with parmesan cheese, with the special Delice tomato sauce, topped with a blend of gruyere, cheddar and mozzarella cheese. It reminded me of  a four cheese pizza but with breaded chicken as the crust in a bed of garlic rice. Yum!

Buuurp! I enjoyed the Chicken Parmigiana and would  definitely go back to try out other stuff on the menu when I get back. And I promise to post some restaurant photos on our next visit.

Well, I wasn’t able to get my money changed to  Yuans in Ayala, but found out that had some 100++ Yuans left from my last trip to Shenzhen. I guess I’ll  have to get the rest of the Chinese tender I need when in Shanghai. Wish me a safe trip and hope you enjoyed reading this post! 😉

Ordered the Pancake Set and Quattros Leches in a jar this time. The pancake set came with two thick, three strips of bacon, 2 sunny side ups, sided with jam and butter-tasting margarine. Thought the pancakes were too thick, that it was a bit dry on the inside. But the Quattros Leches we enjoyed so much. It was soft, rightfully sweet and creamy!

When I get so stressed out, I got 3 places in mind to go and unwind- the beach, the mountain or ice cream/FroYo parlor. And gladly all 3 are just a few minute drive from anywhere in Cebu City.  4PM, with good friends Nickolai and Remz, we drove up the mountain of Balamban to have dinner. The drive particularly reminded me of a bus ride to Genting (Malaysia) with my brother Edd and backpacking friends Geof and Ken 4 years ago, where the fog literally covered the street and all we can see is the yellow line separating the lanes. This is not  normal by the way, the habagat caused a decrease in temperature, making it way colder, hence too much fog.

 

The extremely foggy condition took us an hour to get to West 35,  which normally is a 30- 45 minute drive  from Lahug Cebu. West 35 is an Eco Mountain retreat where you can enjoy a great view of Balamban Mointains, have your kids play around the playground, ride the zipline, trek to Gaas Waterfalls or enjoy a good lunch or dinner at Haven Cafe.

Due to the bad weather that day, Haven Cafe closes at 6PM and gladly, we made it just in time. I was starving so I ordered for myself one of Haven Cafe’s specialty dish “Grilled Boneless Chicken” and hawaiian pizza for the 3 of us to share. The food took around 25-30 minutes to prepare so we had time to look around and chill at the viewing deck.

Haven Cafe is a great cozy place to chill even the weather was a bit gloomy, it was a good place to talk and catch up with friends. And check out the view from my restroom photo, that’s how foggy it was that time. And since the Balamban mountains wasn’t visible from the viewing deck, we opted to take a photo of ourselves instead. hahaha. And yes it was pretty cold and you’d see how pale we were on the photo. 😛

Haven Cafe is so off the beaten path that you just can’t help but expect the food to be superb. So as I mentioned earlier, I had the “Grilled Boneless Chicken” which as per the waitress is one of their specialty dishes and the Hawaiian Pizza for us to share.

 

Grilled Boneless Chicken, 210php. 2 chicken breast fillet with creamy pesto sauce, 210php. The chicken fillet , I think it was missing a dash of pepper or marinade to make the meat tastier. The chicken tasted like it was defrosted, rubbed with salt and then grilled. The creamy pesto sauce gave a bit of light to the grilled chicken though.

Hawaiian Pizza, 325php. Sliced ham, pineapple chunks, mozzarella cheese, pomodoro, olive oil and onions. It could’ve been perfect if the crust was crispier.

Haven Cafe has 2 specialty drinks, Westy Minty Lemonade and Cucumber Quencher, both at 155php a pitcher/55php a glass. We ordered the Westy-Minty Lemonade for it was highly recommended by our waitress. Lemonade flavored juice with ginger extract and mint leaves. Refreshing!

Well, the food didn’t meet my expectations, but it was an awesome experience nonetheless. I have to commend the friendly waitresses for a wonderful service. Started with cooking for his friends on gatherings, Alduz Aizon or Duz to his friends wanted to share his cooking with the rest of the Cebuanos. He begun welcoming customers in November 2012 at their address in San Antonio Village and had been getting good reviews from diners.

 

With no restaurant signage outside, it may seem unwelcoming but wait ’til you get inside and meet the people. 🙂 Too late for lunch and too early for dinner, we arrived at Duz Grill at 4PM with the property’s blue gate still closed, which was then opened a few minutes after and we were greeted with a smile. 🙂

The al fresco area can sit around 30-35 customers  and the indoor dining around 15-25. The outdoor dining area is romantically set in the garden which gets more charming when warm lights lit up at night. And an air conditioned dining area is available inside Alduz’ house  and the owners themselves make you feel like you are a family friend being invited for dinner. We chose to sit inside the ‘entertainment room’ under the branches of the heart tree. Hahaha, okay it’s really not called the heart tree but with the capiz hearts hanging around it’s branches, it’s just appropriate to call it the heart tree, right? 🙂 And yeah, when you step on the front door of the house, try looking up and see how they turned some old wood into light decors. Pretty cool!

One of Mabolos’s hidden dining spots, Cadi Shack diner is along Breslin Street and is home of the great tasting 200php Pork Steak! The restaurant’s  cadillac blinds make it hard to miss. Getting inside the restaurant, the first thing you’ll notice is the classic cadillac on display at the other end of the restaurant. Accommodating around 35 customers at a time, the restaurant gives you a cozy intimate feel.

Deliciously grilled and served with gravy, Cadi Shack Diner’s Pork Steak is so good! Juicy, well seasoned and a good portion (serves around 2 medium appetite rice eating Filipino diners), priced at only 200php!

We also ordered Apple Chutney Chops (Price 190php). Pork steak with apple sauce and sided with peppered cabbage. ( Not really a fan of this dish )

When we experience something that’s a bit off when dining at a restaurant, we do tell the waiters about it politely. It’s good that they know what negative things you have to say so they have to improve on it. But deliver it politely and constructively, and not offensively.

 

An example was when the cucumber drinks we ordered  at Cadi Shack Diner  had a strong (not just a hint, but strong) taste of ginger. We asked the waitress if the drink had ginger on it, and she replied, “it’s only pure cucumber and water.” We told her that the drinks  had a strong taste of ginger. And she just smiled. I think she didn’t know what to answer, so she answered with a smile. Nonetheless, we were able to convey to her that there was something wrong and maybe next time it wouldn’t be like that.

With that said, we will be back at Cadi Shack Diner for more of the awesome 200php Pork Steak and another try of a glass of cucumber drink, maybe it’ll be perfect next time.  ^_^

Skewered surf and turf with cajun butter. I love surf and turf  and one of the very few things my  beloved Aunt and I share. 🙂 The Suite Room’s version is good, but I like  the smokey and flavorful surf and turf served at Casa Verde better. And they could’ve used prawns instead of the itsy bitsy shrimps. I had my meat done medium well. Surf and Turf can also be ordered ala carte for 238php.

Also tried the mushroom soup and Caesar salad for starters, herb roasted chicken (main course) and Cappuccino ice cake,  caramel apple ice cake and Tocino del cielo desserts.

 

When this was served, was a bit disappointed by just looking at it. The leaves were soggy. The dressing was good though, not overpowering the other elements of the salad.

Been seeing photos of Sam’s 50’s Diners from my Cebu Doctors University friends’ Facebook and finally got to check the place out with my dad and brother Edd. The 50’s vibe here is really immersing. Stepping inside the restaurant, black and white tiles and the sound of old music embraces you, making you feel you have been transported back in time. The diner’s menu and the ordering area wasn’t that 50’s though. The menu is not all American too  like we expected. They serve asian food like the Korean bibimbap and some dimsum steamed rice as well.

Bibimbap (140php) . A traditional Korean dish with a Filipino twist. I was used to having my bibimbap with raw egg, but Sam’s 50’s diner version is served with the egg fried. I loved this version too though, after mixing everything on the plate and it’s all good!

Sizzling Burger Steak with Egg (95php). First thing that came to my mind is the tiny size of the burger patty, but when I tasted the burger steak with the creamy buttery gravy , it was really flavorful. A mixed of buttery sweet sauce then melts down to a well seasoned ground beef patty. Yum!

Coming from Mactan, Banawa is really way way far! My brothers and our friends had been wanting to try this restaurant for quite some time now and finally decided to drive our way to Soul Bistro for dinner. It’s easy to spot for the restaurant is just beside the road. Can’t find parking space so parked at an alley before the restaurant.

I find Soul Bistro’s logo clean and crisp!  The air-conditioned dining area sits around 18-22 people and around 12-14 guests at the al fresco area. It feels really warm and homey with all the yellow lights. And kudos to the waitresses, who are very friendly and attentive.

Basing on the food we ordered, well honestly, unanimously we think it was just okay and there’s no feeling or excitement of uttering “we are going to order this one on our next visit.”  But what is amazing with Soul Bistro’s menu is that they have the “SOUL HEALTHY” choices on the menu, which I can’t wait to try on our next visit. And the Herb Crusted Shrimps sounds interesting as well. Part of our “WHAT TO ORDER NEXT” at Soul Bistro.

Yes it’s Wednesday cheat day again and iLuvCebu team is excited to share our latest discovery to everyone – BUDDIES!  The restaurant is really hard to miss for once you enter the arcade, Piazza Elesia, it’s the first store on your right. 🙂 And parking? Not a problem!

 

Buddies

 

Buddies  just opened  on the 1st of May this year, had been creating a bit of a buzz online for it’s juicy flavorful patties! The toned down diner ambiance with a clean and crisp red highlights and wooden furnishings would give it away, that Buddies is not a fast-food restaurant. Your burgers, burritos and everything else on the menu (except for the drinks of course) are prepared just right after you order so give them around 8 to 15 minutes to prepare, but waiting is all worth it when you get to try the good stuff served here at Buddies! Everyone who were able to dine in at the 2 month old cafe now knows how delectably good their burgers are but do they know why the cafe is named , “Buddies“?

Ok, once upon a time, John Paul was lost in a forest far far away and started looking for a way out of the forest before darkness fall. As he was looking he saw a young fellow playing poker under a tree named Blake. He then joined Blake playing poker and as dinner comes to a near, they both fell hungry and started looking for something to eat. As they stroll around the forest they sniffed a stupendous essence of smoke and followed it. And there, insight is Nino making burgers! And from then on they became good friends enjoying burgers, burritos, tacos and many more over poker for many many years. And after so long, they were able to get out of the forest far far away, they decided to open up a restaurant which they called , “BUDDIES!” teehee.

Okay okay, that’s me and my imagination running on overdrive. But yes, it’s named Buddies because the restaurant is owned by 3 long time buddies Nino Bascon, John Paul Chiongbian and Blake Go. Buddies Nino, John Paul and Blake decided to share with the rest of Cebu, or maybe the world, what Nino has been preparing for them and their friends over the years – hence the diner “Buddies” was opened!

It’s dinner time and let’s give you a quick rundown on what we ordered. We had chili Cheese fries, onion rings, Carnitas Taco, Philly Cheese Steak , Buddy Burger with chili con carne and cheese, Carnitas Burrito, Sizzling Burger Steak and Fried Chicken, wheeew!  Okay hold those thoughts, just to remind you guys, we were 5 who partook dinner, not to be defensive and all, just want to make it clear. hehe 😉

Buddies' Chili Cheese Fries (85php)

I love fries! Well, who doesn’t! And you would love it more with chili con carne and cheese like how Ron and Rufus eat their  fries like a boss! (Ron’s Kim Possible’s sidekick and rufus is the naked mole rat, in case you don’t know ’em ;)).

 

Buddies Onion Rings (45php)

Crispy coating and tender sweet onion inside! For onion ring fans, this you would enjoy! Reminds me of my friend Neil Matillano from Singapore who loves onion rings! See you soon buddy and try Buddies when you visit Cebu!

Buddies’ Carnitas Taco or pork taco would be a different taco from what we Cebuanos have been accustomed to. Most restaurants here would serve tacos on a hard shell but here at Buddies they serve it on a soft flour tortilla with meat onions, tomato and cilantro. Yum!

 

Buddy Burgers (89php ++ for extra toppings)

Buddies has one of the best burgers in town!  Each of the members of iLuvCebu team would synonymously agree! Juicy and flavorful patty! Would try the Big Buddy Burger (triple burger) or maybe do the Ultimate Burger Challenge and see how many minutes would I be able to finish the Ultimate Buddy Burger! hahahaha

Philly Cheesesteak (150php)

One of my favorites at Buddies – The Philly Cheesesteak. Thin steak slices with cheese and caramelized onions on a hoagie bun.

Fried Chicken. The kids would love these! Crispy on the outside, flavorful on the inside. You can opt to get a gravy or the interesting sweet soy sauce mixture.

My brothers and I love burger steaks! And Buddies’ Burger steak is just Ti amo! We highly recommend the Burger Steak! Order the 2 piece for one wouldn’t be enough!

Everything Yummy takes their ribs seriously.  The overnight marinating, 3 hours of cooking and then the grilling is a labor of love that makes Everything Yummy’s American Ribs oh so tender,  oh so yummy and yearned by many. Started with giving slabs of their own recipe of American ribs to friends during the holidays, owner Mr. Hans Congmon and his partner then started getting orders from friends, friends of friends, and with Facebook’s help, they got orders outside their social circle, cooking the ribs at their home in Mandaue. The rapid rise of Everything Yummy’s  list of  clientele and patrons made owners decide to open a physical restaurant, thus the humble restaurant in Talamban seating 15 customers was set in motion just October of last year . Though the original plan was to mainly just “Ribs-for-delivery”, yet hungry customers just keep on pouring and dining in for those ribs.

Arrived at 6:15pm on a Friday  at Everything Yummy, good thing I breezed in before the peak hours which usually starts at 6:30pm and able to take pictures before the place got packed. When you plan on dining for lunch or dinner at Everything Yummy, be sure to call them to reserve a table for you and your friends or else you would be left with no choice but to wait for the customers to clear out the table or have the ribs to go. And be sure to be at Everything Yummy 15 minutes before your time of reservation and not be late or else have the risk of having your table be given to a line of waiting customers.  The place gets  really packed with regulars and foodies during peak hours but fret not rib lovers, for pretty soon Everything Yummy will be expanding to accommodate more regulars and new customers! The restaurant’s ambiance is warm, intimate and cozy. Simple and no fuzz.

Soft, tender and flavorful ribs smothered in delicious honey barbecue sauce, Everything Yummy’s charcoal grilled American Ribs is the restaurants main attraction. Everything Yummy got great comments from  local newspaper and magazine, not to mention great reviews from blogs and recommendations from regulars, saying Everything Yummy Ribs is Cebu’s best charcoal grilled American ribs – and I would agree to that. Owner Mr. Hans Congmon  adds that Everything Yummy uses prime cut ribs giving his customers the best that they deserve.

Everything Yummy Lemongrass Inasal is my personal favorite from the restaurant. Drizzle the sauce on the chicken, then take a bite on the crispy chicken skin, then tear the soft juicy zesty tender chicken meat, yum!  Inasal given a Cebuano lemongrass twist  with sauce made with healthy canola oil, achuete and spices.

Singaporean Pepper Prawns is the owners’ original recipe but a deviation from the original recipe which supposed to be Singaporean Pepper Crabs. But since they can’t find a good supplier of crabs, they opted to try it with prawns and knowing it still tasted good, they added the revised recipe to the menu. I also noticed that the the prawns are deveined, so there would be no gritty or funky taste.

2 of Filipino favorite breakfasts, Everything Yummy gives a dash of their own to their chorizo and corned beef. So what’s special with Everything Yummy’s version of these Filipino favorites? Special Homemade corned beef is made from 100% beef. It is less greasy and is fried until its a bit crunchy but not dry. My brother Edd would love this!

And you might be wondering why the owners named the restaurant Everything Yummy, well for the simple reason that they make sure that everything they put on the menu is yummy not just to them but to their customers as well. The menu consist of just a few entrees and had been loved by the owners and their patrons even before the restaurant opened.

Zup peehgs? With guests from outside Cebu and the day of hearts,  iLuvcebu.com and friends have been pigging out around Cebu for the past weeks, gaining some extra pounds in the process. hehe. Well we, the peehgs, have decided to dine at Simply J’s  Cafe in Escario. For some it might be tricky to find this restaurant because there’s no sign or awning. It’s the restaurant beside Diamond Hotel. 🙂

Getting inside, you’d get that warm and country feel, very homey and accommodating.  And yeah you would notice there are price tags on the chairs, the tables, frames, lamps and everything, except the utensils and waiters of course. We started the meal with an appetizer.

Tortilla chips served with salsa or cheese dip. priced at 130php. Well, the salsa tasted like it isn’t fresh, just like those dips you can pick up from the grocery counters.

Following the Mexican craving is the Tortilla Salad. Lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, seasoned ground beef with taco chips and taco dressing. Price is at 150php. Fresh greens drizzled with over- the- counter- tasting taco dressing.

Chef’s Signature baby back ribs priced at 190php. Grilled baby back ribs brushed with honey mustard sauce. Personally, it tasted dry we have to ask for extra honey mustard sauce and the meat is not that tender too.

The Salsa Cream Dory, I definitely enjoyed! Fish fillet pan-fried topped with tomato and herb salsa. Price: 160php. Soft velvety fish fillet infused with light herby flavors! Yum!

Everyday I put eating chocolates on my To-do-list, just to make sure I get something done by the end of the day. I just love chocolates- may it be dark, white, with nuts or with fruits(You can check my Facebook wall photos if you don’t believe me. ;)) One night, a good friend texted me that a new restaurant is celebrating their grand opening the next day and the owner had invited me to join them. I declined since I got other stuff to take care the next day and asked what’s the restaurant is serving and he answered it’s a chocolatier and everything on the menu has chocolate on it! Without any hesitation, I retracted my “NO” and said COUNT ME IN! 😉

Maitre Chocolatier

Maitre Chocolatier is fascinating and intriguing. With chocolate on everything on the menu is just heaven to every chocoholic. It may sound weird for some – sausage with chocolates? pizza with chocolates? I tried them and I tell you their good! Today though, I will  only be featuring four of the desserts offered at Maitre Chocolatier.

Virtuous Temptation

Maitre’s Virtuous Temptation -Lindt White Strawberry Mousse Cake! Divine white chocolate mousse whipped with slices of fresh strawberries and Lindt White Chocolate.  (168php+). Ohhh lala! I love!

Golden Euphoria

Maitre’s Golden Euphoria is  their bestseller. Ferrero Hazelnut Crunch Cake. Chocolate hazelnut mousse on a velvety chocolate spongecake topped with Ferrero Rocher Chocolate. (188php+) It’s best shared since it gets to be very sweet halfway!

Guiltless Crime

Maitre’s Guiltless Crime- Frey Lait Fruit Tartlet. Creamy Frey Lait Chocolate filled in heart-shaped tartlet topped with kiwi,mango and melon. (Price: 120php+). The fresh fruits with Frey chocolate is a great combination, thought the tart is a bit hard, so better eat each heart tart in one munch to prevent everything from falling down.

Crepe

Maitre Crepe with Lindt white chocolate sauce topped with nuts. Price 168php+

I love Roma Mia’s Godfather Chops in herb Sauce so I suggested we eat there. We have eaten at Roma Mia countless times but this is the first time I blog about Roma Mia. hehe
I and Sinjin ordered Godfather Chops in Herb Sauce(Price: 198php), Shake ordered Godfather Chops in Gravy Sauce (Price: 170php) and Edd ordered Mobster Meal(Price: 160php: an IT Park Exclisive) Baby Back Ribs with Iced Tea (Price: 70php).

If you like herbs then you will love Roma Mia’s Godfather Chops in Herb Sauce. Minced Herbs (probably Thyme, Ground Pepper and Oregano) in olive oil! The tender meat of the chops compliments well with the herbs. Side dish are a corn slice, 2 short carrot sticks and 2 short bean sticks. I ordered a glass of refillable Iced tea with my chop.
As for the Godfather Chop in gravy sauce, tender chops in a bed of semi sweet gravy. Side dish is corn slice, 2 short carrot sticks and 2 short bean sticks.

Baby Back Ribs grilled but not overdone and brushed with sweet barbeque sauce! Side dish is 2 short carrot blocks. But would personally prefer Tara’s Cafe Version over Roma Mia’s Baby Back Ribs.

I just love Roma Mia’s Godfather Chops. I have ordered both chops(in herb sauce and gravy sauce) at their Ayala Branch, though their’s a little inconsistency with the porkchop size and quantity of the sauce, and would say have to say both are my favorite chops of all time! hehe
But of course, not everyone loves herbs right? If you don’t like herbs, then definitely you’d not be pleased with Godfather chops in herb sauce. Order the Godfather Chops in Gravy sauce instead. : )
Service at Roma Mia would sometimes go lousy though, which i think is the downside of the resto. Nonetheless, would go back for those yummy and flavorful Chops!
