Circa 1900 keeps dining experience exciting for its patrons, introducing new items on the menu every now and then. This quarter, the restaurant has prepared a list of fare that is perfect for the holidays.
One of my personal favorite restaurants in Cebu, Circa 1900 is set in a century old house, that exudes a unassuming classic elegance and charm. Aside from it being a natural beauty, the restaurant serves great food – which I always recommend to visiting friends to experience.
This quarter, Circa 1900 has added nine (9) items on the menu – a soup, an appetizer, four (4) mains and three (3) desserts. The list which is available as ala carte, would also make a lovely nine (9) course meal. 😉
Starting the dinner with a flavorful soup made with Aromatic pork rib soup with broccoli, fresh button mushrooms, young bok choy and glass noodles.
For the appetizer, Scotch style quail egg encased in ground duck and chia seed with warm duck breast and tomato hoisin chutney.
Homemade pumpkin Parpadelle with fresh mushrooms, avocado oil, asparagus and macadamia Nuts. This is an interesting mix of contrasting textures – from its soft, chewy parpadelle, to the crisp asparagus and to the crunchy macadamia nuts – is just satisfying.
Grilled grouper and crispy baby crabs with tumeric salted egg sauce, camote and baby haricot beans. My personal favorite on the new addition, I started eating the crispy crablets, which left a briny taste on the mouth then began to slice pieces of the grilled grouper and slid it on the tumeric salted egg sauce.
Smokey “St. Helens” Beef Brisket cooked sous vide style for 72 hours, chargrilled & served with roast vegetable.
Slow curry peanut butter braised beef osso bucco with charred cabbage and vegetables.
For dessert, there’s the Torte di niele, mini fruit mince pie and chocolate caramel pecan tart.
The new additions to the Circa 1900 menu are delightfully good that would make a good feast for your gatherings this coming holidays. Try it with your friends and family! To reserve a table, you can contact Circa 1900 through these numbers – 032- 239 6265 / 09232795616 / 09065708735.
