Two of the most notable Japanese restaurants in Cebu are in A.S. Fortuna Street and would the newly opened Mismukuno Teppanyaki be the third one? yes? Maybe? Let’s see!
Parking space is limited, so when you park in the first row (near the restaurant), there’s a big chance someone’s going to park behind you, blocking you from going out quick. The parking attendant’s fast in informing and asking the car owners blocking the first row cars though, so not much of a problem there.
Going inside, the first thing I noticed was the Japanese Cartoon Heroes Mural to my right! Big fan of Astroboy, Dragon Ball Z, Gundam, Mazinger and Voltes V! Nostalgic!
Adoring the contemporary Japanese interiors. Those hanging bonsai plants, really cool. And check out the digital mirror before getting inside the restroom really wicked!
You might be wondering what Teppanyaki is. Teppanyaki is a Japanese dish where iron griddle is used to cook food.
Our meal started with a serving of the complimentary Misu soup. We also ordered one serving of each: Pork, Beef and Chicken Teppanyaki (240php each) and Yaki Meshi Rice (75php/serves one).
All the meat we ordered were tender but we enjoyed the beef best with the yaki meshi rice.
The restaurant seems like it’s an eat-and-go Japanese restaurant. Like after you eat, you have to go for there are other customers waiting for their turn to dine. Though the restaurant does not impose the rule, but your gut just tells you you should and be considerate of the other hungry customers waiting in line, specially during peak hours. So if you are planning a dinner where you can do a long chit chat with friends, this is not the place. hehe.
The dining concept’s awesome. ^_^ Can’t wait to be back to try the Gyudon and rock lobster.
