Fête de la Musique featuring PUPIL at the Terraces

Commemorate World Music Day as Fête de la Musique brings you local bands and PUPIL at the Terraces on June 16, starting 1pm. The all-night annual music festival is being celebrated in over 30 countries worldwide and Cebu, Philippines will be part of the festivities that will showcase the best of Cebuano musical artistry.

The free and public affair promotes music by encouraging amateur and professional musicians to perform in open, public venues for the general public to appreciate. Home-grown musicians in Cebu will be sharing their songs and music until midnight. Fête de la Musique guarantees to offer music lovers of all ages and preferences in one day to truly enjoy a universe of sounds and rhythms.

This year’s Fête aims to showcase the rich tapestry of Philippine music scene across a variety of genres and generations. In the spirit of collaboration not only among artists but also across music production groups, Ayala Malls will exhibit the acts across all genres in three (3) stages. Bands such as Lupon Anduyo will commence the revelry along with six others inside Ayala Center Cebu Mall at 1pm. Bruce Conte and a series of class acts like Bambu Spliff, Sunday Sunday, March The Sky, and Womb will play at The Walk by 4pm.  The highlight of this year’s Fête de la Musique will feature a special guest performance by the highly successful and OPM Band, “Pupil” at 6pm, at the Ayala Terraces along with JR Kilat, Powerspoonz, Smooth Friction, Eve’s Garden, Mungkanghan, Jensen Gomez, Kingston Blues Project, Youth Ensemble and internationally acclaimed UV Chorale.

Sumo Sam: Fresh take on Japanese Cuisine

Since the day Sumo Sam opened in Cebu, I was really captivated with the cozy and chill set-up of the couches outside the restaurant. I have to be honest but I have not been, tasted or even heard of Sumo Sam until it opened here in Cebu. It was the eve of Halloween and Team was so busy with all the preparation for Cosplay HD (a cosplay event we produced with Ayala Center Cebu, Cedf-IT and Cebu Business Park) and our guests who are Elite Cosplay Team from Manila – Tuxedo Team who totally loves Japanese food and Team was also craving for some Japanese goodness and refreshing green tea (which by the way is available and is REFILLABLE/Bottomless at Sumo Sam Cebu, Awesooooome!) so we decided to eat at the new Japanese restaurant at The Terraces, Sumo Sam.

I have to commend the attendants for being polite, attentive and fast! And the food at Sumo Sam is uniquely Japanese. What I have noticed is that for every dish I have tasted at Sumo Sam, they do not  have the same taste with the dishes I have eaten at any Japanese restaurants here in Cebu- I guess they added some unique Sumo Samness in very dish on the menu. Which I guess is a good thing – like for me I sooo love California Maki and I could devour 2 rolls in one sitting ( yeah yeah , I know am such a peehg, :P)  and Sumo Sam‘s version has all the key ingredients with  a little bit smokey twist which was really appetizing that you’d crave for again and again.
