Tour de Cebu 2015 off to a 1K Historic Rally

8AM 10th October 2015, Asiatown I.T. Park Cebu City – Tour de Cebu started its 1,000 kilometres historic rally across the Visayas. Vice Governor Agnes Magpale with Ms. Cebu 2015 Wynonah Buot led the ceremonial flag off, sending the first car off and hinting the other 24 vintage car owners to commence the touristic rally.

Actor and racer Matteo Guidicelli was the last one to leave the flag off ground. The three- time Philippine Karter of the Year winner, who also joined the first Tour de Cebu last 5 December 2014, drove in his yellow two-seater convertible vintage 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder.

This year’s Tour de Cebu will cover both Cebu and the Negros Island Region, making stops in Bacolod and Dumaguete cities. An assemblage at Rizal Blvd. Dumaguete will happen later at 5PM and in Bayawan Kabangkalan on October 4. The group would also make  a layover at Bacolod’s New Government Center at 3PM on Oct. 4.  8AM October 5, a Provincial Capitol Flag off will take place before the team heads to San Carlos City. The group is expected to wrap up the historic rally 7PM of October 5 at Chateau de Busay.

Missed the flag off earlier? You can still get a glimpse of more eye candy vintage cars at Montebello Villa Hotel until 4PM today, October 3, 2015. Read more about Concours d’ Elegance here:

Cebu’s Suggested Instagrammers share tips on how to take creative IG Photos

During the era of analog photography, the only ways to get dibs, tricks and tips on taking great looking pictures are: (1)  ask techniques from seasoned photographers, and (2) buy photography books. An analog photography newbie’s dilemma is even if he is gifted with an eye in capturing great photos, there’s the possibility he won’t get the right composition he wanted until he gets the print, and too late for the mishap to be corrected.

The digital age on the other hand is a totally different photography scenario. Today, you can just Google photography tips and  hundreds of recipes would come up  on how to take a perfect looking captures for your reference. And today, we get to preview the captures through our cameras’ LCD screens as well before we have them printed or posted on our social networking sites.

Do you still remember a few years back when everybody owned a DSLR Camera? Today, a big chunk of the digital camera market belongs to the portable camera phones/ smart phones. Undoubtedly most of us now prefer to bring our handy-dandy camera phones instead of the bulky and heavy DSLR cameras to document our everyday life, and even on special occasions. Welcome to the mobile photography age!

Mobile photography is distinctively unconventional compared to the traditional analog and digital SLR photography disciplines. No rules apply, just point and shoot; and a little help from photo-enhancing apps you’d get great looking photos in a flash. And I bet you are all well-versed with Instagram by now; the mobile photography app accounting each instagrammer’s life and events in real time.

Did you know that Instagram shares a list consisting of a variety of talented Instagrammers to follow from around the globe? These Suggested Instagrammers bring a unique perspective to Instagram by sharing inspiring photos and videos, helping to cultivate the larger Instagram community and inspiring creativity!

Today on #TheList, we rounded up  7 Cebu-based Instagrammers  who are part of the pool of talented Suggested Instagrammers around the world and their tips on how to take artistic Instagram photos!

 7 Cebu-based Suggested Instagrammers

1. RYAN REYES, 2-time Suggested Instagram User. Nursing Phlebotomist by Profession.

“There are no fixed rules in photography, even more so in taking instagram photos for instagram. However composition is everything. It makes or breaks the photo. Another thing is to never stop exploring. There’s always something amazing to photograph just around the corner. Lastly, trust your vision and your voice. Never let the fear of judgement stop you from growing and developing your craft. Because at the end of the day, those followers and likes are just numbers. It’s what you produce that matters most.” – @RyannReyes

2. MARCO PAULO DIALA, 2-time Suggested Instagram User. Web Developer/Blogger.

“I have a messy feed, I basically post anything that I find Instagram worthy. When I take photos, I look for interesting subjects, nice backgrounds, lines, angles and perspective to come up with a great composition. I make sure that everything in the photo looks balanced as well.” – @CountoCram

3. DOLLY PONTILLAS, Fashion Designer/Artist.

“I am often asked how did I came up with my own art style, why “Tomato Cheeks”. I was working on a portrait few years back and I didn’t realize there’s red ink on the side of my hand. You know when you try to remove ink off a spot and it turned out to be a bigger mess? RAGE. But the gates of art havens opened and it didn’t turned out as sh*tty as I thought it would. Here’s some art tips: Draw what you like. Draw whatever the heck you like. Create weird proportions and experiment on colours. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes because it happens and that’s okay. Don’t compete and compare your works to other artists. When you look at other artists’ works, dont be discouraged when you think they did a better job, instead: enjoy their art, get ideas and be inspired. You will never stop learning. You’ll be wrinkly and grey and still be learning new things. Even the ‘pros’ don’t know everything. Love the quirks and imperfections of your drawings and eventually, you will see your own art style developing.” -@dollypontillas
“It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child.” —Pablo Picasso

IMG_5627 (1)

“Play with light.

Lighting is a necessity in taking good photographs. A well-lit picture looks sharper and clearer than the ones taken in low light. This time, experiment and play with light. You can put your subject before your light source so it displays a silhouette. I personally call this as “Against the Light” technique. Now, position your camera at an angle which shows a perfect flare. Tip, go for natural light. It is better to shot photographs one hour after the sunrise or one hour before the sunset because the light from the sun is just right for a photo and is not that bright.” -@lemm.g

5. LAMIKAAYO, Web Developer/ Blogger.
“When I take food shots I consider the following- plating, lighting, background and texture. I make sure that the food is the focus of the photo and will make the viewer hungry. Flat-lays also work if you want to capture multiple dishes.” -@LamiKaayo
6. GRAMIELLE A. AMBALONG, Culinary Student.
“That one great landscape shot will look even greater with a subject in it, say a person or two. When out capturing scenes, try to find an angle a little far back where you get a great perspective of your subject playing a unifying role to the whole atmosphere and size of the space. Works well also with nature, and every other place with a view. A great blue ocean with a lady in a bikini atop a floater taken slightly from above, or a group of friends sitting on a mountain cliff taken from down below; A simple background with a plain subject when put beautifully together will always work magic. Two birds with one stone.” -@Gramielle

7. WILLFREDO JR. , Aeronautical Engineer Student.

” I  love taking pictures. I take passion in capturing that split moment of happiness and wonder. Cebu has been my playground for years. Some of my shots are taken in my hometown, Dalaguete, and some are taken in Cebu City where I am currently pursuing my degree in Aeronautical Engineering. I usually take take pictures of people and scenes that catch my attention. I seldom take staged shots. When it comes to post processing, I barely edit or put filters into my my shots. I want it to look exactly like how my eyes see such moment. Spontaneity is my game. Relieve Moments through taking pictures. Just keep shooting, just keep sharing those moments. Instagram is a diverse community of arts and people where you can learn, inspire and be an inspiration in return. Make friends and let Instagram do the rest.” – @willJr42

La Nostra Pizzeria Napoletana Cebu

La Nostra Napolentana Pizzeria Cebu

Address: Streetscape Mall Paseo Saturnino Banilad Cebu City 6000, Cebu Philippines

Parking: Yes (Arcade parking)

Mode of payment: Cash

Operating Hours: Tuesdays to Sundays 12noon to 2PM | 6PM to 10PM | Closed on Mondays

La Nostra 1

If you’ve been wondering how authentic Neapolitan Pizza tastes like, good news because Cebu is home to the only Approved Vera Pizza Napoletana or AVPN Certified pizzeria in the country.

Each La Nostra Pizza has a crust made from a dough made with highly-refined Italian wheat flour, fresh brewer’s yeast, water and salt – kneaded and formed by hand. The dough is topped with raw, pureed tomato, mozzarella cheese from cow’s milk and fresh and all-natural ingredients. Then baked in Volcanic Brick oven with wood fire.

La Nostra 12

As the pizza is removed from the oven, an intense smell of baked bread and fresh grassy scent from the basil and oregano envelopes the room. The crust has puffed up with burnt spots on the edges, giving the pizza that slightly smokey flavor. And you would also notice how your hands wouldn’t get all oily when you pick up slices of La Nostra Pizza.

La Nostra Pizza has more sauce than cheese, leaving the middle of the pie a bit wet and soggy and the best way of eating a slice is folding it and take it down one bite at a time. 😉

La nostra 5

Margherita, La Nostra and Nutella Pizzas are my current favorites on the menu!

Margherita Pizza is made with tomato sauce, fior di latte cheese, basil, extra virgin olive oil in Neapolitan crust.

Pizza La Nostra is made with cream sauce, parmesan cheese, fior di latte cheese, ham, butter and basil.

La nostra 10

A dessert pizza, Nutella Pizza is made with Neapolitan crust topped with Nutella and powdered sugar.

La nostra 14

La Nostra Napoletana Pizzeria serves no fuss pizza, made with fresh and quality ingredients. For some of us who are still not that familiar with Neapolitan Pizza, we don’t have to fly to Naples just to get a taste of authentic Neapolitan pizza. Head to La Nostra Napolitana Pizza in Streetscape Mall for the only AVPN Certified Napoletana Pizzeria  in the country!

And if your wondering what “La Nostra” means, it translates to “our.” So La Nostra Napoletana Pizzeria” transcribes to “Our Neapolitan Pizzeria.” 😉

Have you dined in at La Nostra Napoletana Pizzeria already? We’d love to hear your review! Drop ’em below.

Temple of Leah, Cebu City

Temple of Leah 2

The temple was built as a symbol of Mr. Teodorico Adarna’s undying love and ceaseless devotion to his wife, Leah. Temple of Leah became an instant domestic tourist attraction as it interestingly resembles ancient pantheons. The spot also gives a great view of Metro Cebu – overlooking the cities of Cebu, Mandaue and Lapu-lapu. On the west balcony of Temple of Leah, you can get  a glimpse of Cebu City’s highlands. The view and the ala ancient feel of Temple of Leah are the reasons why tourists drop by the attraction.

The construction of Temple of Leah started in 2012 and to this date, the estate is still undergoing development.  As of August 7, 2015, Temple of Leah management charges 50PhP entrance fee per guest and 2,500PhP venue fee for professional photography for wedding and events.

The best time to visit is at around 3PM-4PM, when its not that scorching hot anymore. And then after, you can have dinner at Lantaw Busay. 🙂

And yes, restrooms are found on the lower flow of the west wing or the left side of the building (your right side when your facing the structure.)  Teehee,

Asus ZenPower

Come on, admit it. You must have at least a 3,000mAh portable battery bank that you bring along with you everyday. With everyone’s fixation on social media, one full charging isn’t enough to get you through the day. Our reliable smartphones have been our constant companion to capture memories, our alarm clock and planner that helps us be as organized as possible , our voice recorder that we use for interviews and the one we turn to for movies, music and games to entertain us when we are on the go – preventing us from getting knocked-down out of boredom. And with our smartphones being used for more than calling and texting, we even go beyond 2 full chargings in a day.

Currently, I have two power banks that I often use – a 2,000mAh and a 7,000mAh. The 2,000mAh battery pack could barely charge my iPhone 6 fully but its quite handy which I could comfortable fit on my back pocket.  The 7,000mAh power bank on the other hand is packed with much power to fully-charge my iPhone 6 and comes in a sleek grey color, but is as big as my iPhone 6 and twice as thick. Gladly, I met Eason de Guzman of  #HungryGeeks and #UnboxingPH and introduced me to this product dubbed as the World’s Number 1 Credit Card Size, high capacity, 10,050mAh Power Bank – The Asus ZenPower.

Just this morning, iLuvCebu Team (Doyzkie, Reymond and Edd) giddily unboxed our Asus ZenPower 10,050mAh. The package includes one Asus ZenPower 10,050mAh Power Bank, charging cord and a User Manual.

Asus ZenPower 2

Asus Zenpower 3

I instantly noticed that the Asus ZenPower Powerbank is more lightweight (weighs only 215 grams) than my current 7,000mAh power bank. Plus, it has a sleek aluminum outer casing, smooth premium finish that gives it a classy and ergonomic feel to it. Packed with about 10,050mAh, it’s incredibly only about the same size as a credit card (and my Starbucks Gold Card.) That would give about 2 full battery charging to an Asus Zenfone 6; and also about 2 full battery charging to an iPhone 6.

Asus 4

The Asus ZenPower Promise

Asus ZenPower also supports a high-efficiency fast charging capability of up to 2.4A output, putting our devices quickly back to life.

Exclusive ASUS PowerSafe Technology monitors temperature, controls both input and output voltages, and guards against short circuits to provide you with maximum safety while charging.

Does it come in other colors?

The ASUS ZenPower is designed with anodized Aluminum casing to create a device you’ll want to show off. Choose from blue, pink, black, gold and silver. ZenPower bumpers are also available in different colors and gives an extra layer of protection.

How durable is the Asus ZenPower?

ZenPower is rigorously tested to ensure top quality. 5000cycles of USB plug test and certified to endure a maximum of 60kg.

Where do I buy an Asus ZenPower in Cebu and how much does it cost?

It will soon be available at Asus stores and certified Asus dealers in Cebu. It retails at 795PhP only.

What if I have a problem with my ZenPower?

You can get online support and information by contacting Asus social media accounts – Instagram, facebook and twitter.

Want to get a hand on one?

iLuvCebu is giving one Asus ZenPower to one of our lucky reader! Here’s how to qualify:

1. Share the blog URL on your Facebook. —>

2. With the link, complete the sentence:

4. Your Facebook profile should be in “Public” so we can review your entry.

Samboan’s Beautiful Waterfalls

Pumped up from our downstream canyoneering from Alegria to Kawasan Falls in Badian the day before, we drove 20 kilometers farther from Matutinao Badian down to Samboan to chase more waterfalls. The sweltering 40 degree summer heat just calls for longer and relaxing cold dips.

Samboan is about 150KM south of Cebu City and the municipality boasts of 6 waterfalls and is home to one of the oldest Spanish-built churches in Cebu.

With no maps and without the help of Mr. Google, we explored quaint Samboan, occasionally asking  friendly Samboanons for directions. In a span of 5 hours, we got to chase 3 out of 6 waterfalls in the municipality,  starting with Aguinid Falls.

With the very recent canyoneering experience, upstreaming Aguinid Falls was a piece of cake (geeeez, now I want a slice of red velvet. teehee.) Treking along Aguinid river and climbing a 45 degree limestone wall (don’t worry, there are holes that serve as foot markers) and a cold dip at the last waterfall tier were the highlights of the experience .

Downstream Canyoneering to Kawasan Falls

Remember how you thought you’d never be able to ride the bike because your fear of crashing just takes over? Then you start pedaling,  get those wheels running and it was awesome!  Throwing myself off a 15 foot waterfall was just about the same jittery experience and the adrenaline rush  from my first jump gave me the urge to do it again and again.

Canyoneering or canyoning recently became a popular attraction in Cebu where adventure seekers walk through nature trails, jump waterfalls, swim a river and  climb boulders. The most famous route is downstreaming Kanlaob Alegria to Kawasan Falls in Badian. The iLuvCebu team (Reymond & Doyzkie Buenaviaje, Charlene Retalla and Lui Balbuena) together with our friends, Marco of and Jeemah of,  took the weekend off to experience the thrill ourselves.

Getting there:

If publicly commuting,  you can either hop on a bus from Cebu South Bus Terminal or a V-Hire(Van for hire) at the South V-Hire Terminal. Both terminals are located at N. Bacalso St. Cebu City. You can also hire a private van to bring you to Badian which would probably cost around 3,ooophp/70USD one way.

The cheapest way to get there is to take the bus ride from Cebu South Bus Terminal to Matutinao Badian which would cost around 150php (3.5USD).  Then riding a habal-habal (motorcycle for hire) at 70php per person to Kanlaob Alegria drop off point.

Driving to Matutinao Badian would take roughly 3.5 hours/130KM. And when doing the downstream canyoneering, It’s best to park your car at the parking lot in front of the Matutinao Chapel since you’ll be exiting there after canyoneering. Parking Fee: 100php

Booking a guide:

Recently (August 16, 2015) went Canyoneering again and this time we booked licensed guide Raymund Sande (highly recommended). Fee’s at 1,200PhP per person (as of September 2015), which included the motorbike ride from Matutinao to Alegria, entrance and exit fees, vest and helmet fee and lunch. You can contact him through 09151392249 or 09326079016.

The guide we booked last May 23, 2015 was licensed guide named Noynoy. We contacted him through 0936 133 5001 and booked at a discounted price of 700 php per person (group of 6, Price as of May 2015). The fee only includes the guide fee and vest and helmet fee.

Walk-ins are also welcome, but we recommend you to book ahead.

The Canyoneering Experience:

Canyoning noobs, my friends and I took the downstream route from Kanlaob Alegria to the majestic Kawasan Falls in Badian. The tour started with a quick safety briefing, then a short walk to Kanlaob river where you’ll be jumping off the first waterfall, entering the Kanlaob canyon.

Canyoneering 2

“Sayon ra man ang downstream. Ug dili sad kaayo hago.” Downstream route is easy and not that exhausting as per our guide Noynoy.  The downstream route is perfect for beginners because it’s relatively effortless. (Well, except for jumping off the waterfalls part which require a bit more courage… and time..  Teehee)

The aberrant summer heat Cebu is currently experiencing calls for a cold refreshing dip, and one of the allures of canyoneering is jumping and swimming in a pool of cold fresh water. Refreshing!  And the beautiful scenic nature around you is a bonus.

If jumping a 15 foot waterfall doesn’t bother you, then Alegria-Badian downstream canyoneering would be like a walk in the park. For those looking for a higher jump-off point, there’s the 25 foot drop. The plunge is optional though so for those afraid of plummeting down a quarter-hundred foot high fall should not be discouraged from doing this canyoneering route.

Be prepared for a long trek, a bit of swimming and climbing. But it’s relatively easy and is a great experience for newbie adventure seekers.

What to wear on your  Cebu Canyoneering adventure :

Wearing something light and comfortable is advised when canyoneering. One may also wear a full body rash guard to prevent possible cuts and scrapes.

Canyoneering shoes are recommended but cross-fit training shoes would very much do. Aqua shoes do give a good grip when climbing on rocks and doesn’t slow you down when swimming, but aren’t comfortable enough when walking on pebbly and rocky paths. Rubber slippers don’t offer a good foot grip and definitely not suitable for canyoning.

The guides have dry bags to store your valuables. But bringing your own doesn’t hurt too.

You can also bring your mobile devices but be sure to have them inside waterproofing cases for safety.

What to bring during Canyoneering:

Bring snacks and at least 500ml water. Store them inside a dry bag. And of course, a waterproof camera  or your mobile devices inside a waterproofing case to document the experience.

After 3 hours  (we took too many photos that’s why it took us that long. hehe), we finally reached the majestic Kawasan Falls. The unfiltered photo below is taken using my iPhone and yes, it’s naturally beautiful! ^_^

Ending this blog with a sample itinerary and an expense estimate which we hope would be very helpful to aspiring adventure enthusiasts like you. Enjoy!

When I travel overseas, the thing I miss the most from my hometown is lechon.  But when I get back to my regular programming, then it starts to sink in – I miss the places I explored, people I met and of course, the food I savored on in that particular country.

I recently had a 10 day trip to Singapore, exploring the country’s different museums. Been to the Lion City countless of times and I love the country for 2 main reasons:  one, it’s less than a 4-hour flight from Cebu, and second, I personally find Singapore refreshing – always innovating and creative. And when in Singapore, I make sure I don’t miss a gastronomic hawker adventure.  Makansutra is probably the most famous tourist stop in sampling a great spread  of hawker dishes from the country. Arm yourself with agility though, for you need to find a table yourself for you to be able to dine in at this food strip.

Singaporean cuisine is really interesting. Multifaceted and flavorful from influences of neighboring countries like Malaysia, Indonesia,India and western colonizers – yet surprisingly  maintaining a unique Chinese Singaporean identity.

My recent cravings for the multicultural Singaporean cuisine led me to dine at Chop Chop Food Centre. Offering authentic Singaporean dishes, it felt like I was transported to Singapore during my evening chow.

Okay, the place may look a bit fancy for a hawker place but the food experience is as authentic as it gets. With fresh ingredients (without the use of powder and MSG flavor enhancers ) and some ingredients straight from the Lion City, this is the real deal my friends.

Beef Rendang tops my list of Chop Chops best dishes. Was craving for this the most, since this was the last thing I had before I left Singapore last March. (Well, part of the last meal I had in SG, along with beef green curry and double fried chicken. teehee ) Chop Chop Food Centre’s Beef Rendang was a real treat. Imagine tender beef cubes, melting in your mouth with great flavors of sweet coconut milk and spices, and then chewing on it releases even more of the flavors. Aaaahh, soo good!  (Chef Vance, you need to prepare a serving of this on my next visit. :P)

A serving of Laksa would normally suffice as a meal for me, but this time it was just the beginning of a Singaporean feast. The spicy noodle soup is awesome paired with tarik or a glass of Milo Dinosaur. Katong Style Laksa 268PhP.

You’ll never go wrong with Satay! Perfect as an appetizer too. Chicken and Pork Satay 188Php per serving

Sambal Sting Ray’s surprisingly good.  The sweet fresh taste of the sting ray’s meat enhanced by the sambal – a perfect match! Sambal Sting Ray 298PhP.

Chop Chop Food Centre spares its customers the effort of going through the process of cracking the crab shell open to get to the goods. Their version of the famous Singaporean chili crab, dubbed as Chili Crab Meat, is equally as good.  Chili Crab Meat 288PhP.

And want more Sambal? you can have it with your rice too! Sambal Fried Rice 188PhP.

Milo Dinosaur is perfect with anything! And Ice Kachang (118PhP) to end a Singaporean feast was just fitting.

Are you hungry already lah? Get your fill of Singaporean hawker cuisine at Chop Chop Food Centre now!

And did I mention that Chef Vance Borja is also the man behind my favorite noodle house in Cebu? Seriously,  I was so teary eyed and overjoyed meeting THE MR. UNCLE NOODLE! sniff sniff. Though Uncle Noodle doesn’t have a physical store anymore, you can still order through a message on their Uncle Noodle Facebook Page. 🙂

Exit Now Cebu

Blindfolded, handcuffed and no single clue what would the first scene be when I take off my blinder, my heart was beating so fast in excitement. A team of 5, handcuffed alongside each member, we removed our eye covers  and found ourselves in a prison cell.  That’s the only spoiler you’d get from me I promise, so go on and keep on reading. :P. And of course I would not ruin the fun by giving the details of the puzzles and clues inside the cell  because I want your wits to bleed out dry like we did (evil laugh buwahahaha) . It was amusing (and nostalgic.. hehe) to have my brain working that hard again since College Integral Calculus . Well, that’s not to scare you. Actually the gameplay really isn’t that difficult when you get the hang of it. You just need to use your sense of sight, logical thinking, common sense and team synergy.

The game concept is  definitely a thrilling addition to the Queen City’s many attractions! Its impressive facility makes you feel that you are exactly in the plight (in our chosen case, as prisoners) and the time constraint of 45 minutes gives you that push to find your way out as fast as you can.

“I have lived in Cebu for quite some time now and find that Cebu is kind of short in varieties of gaming amusement. So when I went back home to Malaysia and found out about this mind game fad, I told myself, hey why not bring this to Cebu?,” shared Malaysian owner Mr. David Chan. “With our goal to make Cebu even more entertaining, we challenge all the Cebuanos to try the newest attraction that will test your mind skills and having fun while at it,” David added.

Exit Now 2

Exit Now has 5 themed rooms to date – The Mummy, Factory 19, Mission Impossible, The Orphan and Prison Break (order is by difficulty level -from easiest to most difficult). Mr. Chan promised to add more room themes when Cebuanos get to embrace the new amusement concept.

Feeling confident, the team chose the most complex room to escape from- Prison Break!

Screen Shot 2015-02-03 at 12.04.28 PM

So here’s the plot:

A prison is a state of the art facility. Getting in and out of it only holds true to cops and prisoners, with sneaky outside friends. Your prisoner friend is going to be in trouble in the next few days, he is scheduled for a life sentence.

He needs to escape out of the prison immediately.

You planned out to breach the prison walls to save the prisoner. You located his cell and went in, only to find out that he has already escaped. Shocked, you didn’t know what to do and the prison’s security has found out of his escape and is looking for his whereabouts. Where could he possibly be? Are there clues to follow his lead to a safe escape?

And we did channel our inner Scofield and got out of the prison cell alright, but when we ducked out of the escape tunnel, we found ourselves in another room to escape from (oops, spilled another one, hehe). And boom, our 45 minutes was up!

Brain stimulating, entertaining and exhilarating role play game that will surely be enjoyed by everyone. So are you up for the challenge and find your exit in 45 minutes? Experience a real life escape game and visit Exit Now!

Yakski Mactan 2

I was really psyched that one of my favorite grill houses has opened a branch just near our place. A few days after their inaugural day, I dropped by to check the chophouse out and had my favorite combo: Chicken breast+Pork Barbecue+ Yakski Spicy and Regular Sauce+Mountain Dew (the next best thing since they don’t serve Sparkle anymore)+ Rice. That Yakski Mactan eat out didn’t turn out so well for me though. The chicken didn’t taste like the one served at their branch in Capitol and the sauces weren’t at par either. And being a big fan of the brand, I am willing to give it a second, or even a third, try before I bid sayonara to this branch for eternity. :p Teehee

Yakski 3

At long last, I was able to get the time and dine again at Yakski Mactan last night. And what makes me even happier is that the branch was able to deliver the Yakski taste that I was looking and longing for. We had our grilled meat well done, hence the very dark outer layer. 🙂

Yakski Mactan

Still on their soft opening, I am crossing my fingers that they continue to do well and deliver the same taste and service as the original branch. Can’t wait to be back real soon!

Have you dined in at Yakski Mactan already? Tell us what you think!
