Delice Recipe

So it’s 3AM and I just finished packing for a trip to Shanghai later and can’t seem to doze off so I turned on my computer and blog about a series of unfortunate events turned awesome that happened earlier. Out of 6 things I was suppose to accomplish earlier, only half were completed. One important thing I didn’t get to do is get some Chinese moolah, which I was told by the very friendly people at the Southwinds Travel Agency to acquire before leaving (hello there Ms. Cookie ^_^) . Two of the money changers I went to had no Yuans, so decided to get dinner first and drop by Ayala to try my luck.

My friends Marco and Atty. Ethy had originally planned that we go to this two-week old Busay restaurant last Tuesday but everyone got tangled with work and all, so ’twas postponed this coming weekend. But since I will not be here this weekend and got some time to kill, headed to Busay and tried  Delice Recipes offerings.

The road  going up to Delice  was really  dark at that moment and was relieved as my car’s head lights caught the sign “Delice Parking Area.” I immediately made a right and parked. It was  just a yellow light across the street that seemed to give brightness in the area. Then Delice’s waiter walked towards me, informed me that there’s a power outage. “But there’s food right?,” I inquired hungrily. haha. And was glad when he replied, “Yes sir, we have!” Well, I took an effort of driving up to Busay so I better try the restaurant’s offerings out.

All the waiters and waitresses were accommodating and welcoming.I was then escorted to my table and seated at the porch where I get to see a stunning view of Cebu lighted up for the night. And then it started to drizzle! Haha! And so I transferred to a table inside, near the bar.

The al fresco area/porch seats around 20, with  5  square tables (seats 4 each). And the function area has 2 long tables,  seating a total of 20 people. Then the bar area has several tables as well, and a staircase to the bed and breakfast rooms.

Delice Recipe- Asian Salad

Delice Recipe- Asian Salad

Ordered the Asian Salad and Chicken Parmigiana. Asian Salad (Price 260php). Mixed Greens, shredded carrots, sesame seeds, kani and nori in Asian dressing. Though I expected the asian dressing to be either a bit tangy or having a hint of sesame oil taste, but just  got a whiff of  sweet vinegar. The sesame seeds gave it a nutty taste and texture which I liked. The Chicken Parmigiana, 280php,  breaded chicken fillet with parmesan cheese, with the special Delice tomato sauce, topped with a blend of gruyere, cheddar and mozzarella cheese. It reminded me of  a four cheese pizza but with breaded chicken as the crust in a bed of garlic rice. Yum!

Buuurp! I enjoyed the Chicken Parmigiana and would  definitely go back to try out other stuff on the menu when I get back. And I promise to post some restaurant photos on our next visit.

Well, I wasn’t able to get my money changed to  Yuans in Ayala, but found out that had some 100++ Yuans left from my last trip to Shenzhen. I guess I’ll  have to get the rest of the Chinese tender I need when in Shanghai. Wish me a safe trip and hope you enjoyed reading this post! 😉

UPDATE: March 30, 2014

Right after being treated like a royal at Cafe Tiala, I picked up my my blogger friends Marco and Jem at Asiatown IT Park and went joy riding to Busay which ended up with a carbo and sugar loading pre-dinner at Delice. As promised , I’d be back and post more photos  of Delice Recipes. Here’s the update! 🙂

Ordered the Pancake Set and Quattros Leches in a jar this time. The pancake set came with two thick, three strips of bacon, 2 sunny side ups, sided with jam and butter-tasting margarine. Thought the pancakes were too thick, that it was a bit dry on the inside. But the Quattros Leches we enjoyed so much. It was soft, rightfully sweet and creamy!

We suggest you go there at around 5PM and enjoy how the sky turns from sunshiny blue to dramatic rays of orange. Then at night, be stunned by the relaxing view of the city lights.

Known for being the starting point of home-turned-household-name-restaurants, Guadalupe still has a few secret chow places off its sleeves. Just across CnT Guadalupe, a new bistro by buddies Chef Francis Ed Saberon and Chef Chad Mercado of Las Vegas brought back home some Tex-Mex, Spanish and Italian flavors they eagerly want to share with fellow Filipinos.

Though the red and black theme hints you that it’s a Spanish restaurant, they also have a spread of Tex-Mex and Italian dishes on the menu.

Formerly a function room in Casa Verde’s main branch turned chic and fancy, The Suite Room offers a 3 course meal for just 500bucks. Accommodating only 14-20 people at a time, be sure to make a reservation when dining in at The Suite Room, specially on weekends.

Choose one (1)  salad or a soup, one (1) entree/pasta (except for the steak which is available for ala carte only) and a dessert.

I ordered Mixed Green Salad for my starter, Surd and Turf for my main course and Peach Mango Ice  Cake for dessert.

Mixed greens with candied walnuts, grapes, dressed with strawberry vinaigrette. Can also be ordered ala carte for 188php. I highly recommend this!

Skewered surf and turf with cajun butter. I love surf and turf  and one of the very few things my  beloved Aunt and I share. 🙂 The Suite Room’s version is good, but I like  the smokey and flavorful surf and turf served at Casa Verde better. And they could’ve used prawns instead of the itsy bitsy shrimps. I had my meat done medium well. Surf and Turf can also be ordered ala carte for 238php.

Peach Mango Ice Cream Cake for dessert. A layer of mango on top of  the ice cream with bits of peach. on a thin layer of crust. Yum! The Peach Mango Ice Cake can also be ordered ala carte at 218php.

Also tried the mushroom soup and Caesar salad for starters, herb roasted chicken (main course) and Cappuccino ice cake,  caramel apple ice cake and Tocino del cielo desserts.

When this was served, was a bit disappointed by just looking at it. The leaves were soggy. The dressing was good though, not overpowering the other elements of the salad.

I love creamy soup! And classic mushroom soup is a winner for me! <3

1/2 citrus herb chicken. Tender chicken with a tangy aroma and herby taste.

The Suite Room’s ice cakes are good! Flavorful but not that sweet. Tocino del cielo dessert is similar to  leche flan but prepared without the milk (sells at 15php).

Yakski Barbecue

Yakski Barbecue

In every restaurant you like, there’s always this one thing that will keep you coming back again and again, and at Yakski, it’s the sauce! ^_^

The place is clean and it seems that the owners are so into cleanliness even the waiters have this Lady Gaga-ish mouth cover (which I thought was a microphone at first ’til i asked) to prevent any saliva going into your food. teehee. The food prices? Very competitive, almost the same prices as with the famous Larsian Barbecue Station.

Yakski Barbecue

Yakski Barbecue

After ordering your food at the grilling station, you would be given a number and wait ’til your barbecue’s served at your table.

Yakski Barbecue

This below is the signature Yakski sauce am talking about! Hahaha. Okay, I dont know how many tablespoon of seasoning is on this but it is flavorfully spicy sweet, it goes well with anything grilled.

Yakski Barbecue

For this visit I get to sample the small sized barbecue (7php), big sized barbecue (15php), chorizo (15php) and quarter chicken (65php). Bestsellers are tuna panga and tuna belly which I would definitely be trying on our next visit.

Yakski Barbecue

Was impressed on how clean the place is and how the prices are so reasonable. And the best part is that you would not smell like barbecue after your lunch or dinner. Yakski is now on my list of  fave grill houses in Cebu. <3

Had a weeklong birthday celebration and my last birthday hurrah for 2013 was a dinner with my family. <3  We love Japanese food and decided to have  yakiniku at Wakamatsu. Without making any reservation, we were lucky to got a table for dinner. Yipeee! (well it’s my birthday celebration so God’s been extra kind to me. :P) But seriously, you should make a reservation when you plan to dine here. For dinner, everything on the menu  is on Eat-All-You-Can (except for the drinks which would be charged and just 1 round of dessert for free). And price is just for 580php. But be sure to order just what you can consume or else you would be charged double. 🙂

Seasoned angus, buttered scallops, squid, maki salad, california maki and chili shrimps would be our top recommendations to order for this restaurant. Chicken was seasoned well too. On top of the awesome food, service is good! <3 This would be one of the restaurants that we would love to visit over and over again. 🙂

Danasan Eco Adventure, Danao

Ecotourist parks now flourish in the outskirts of the city of Danao Cebu. Let iLuvCebu Team take you to one of Cebu’s hidden beauty, Waterfalls in Danasan (locals say its not named Danasan Waterfalls but Waterfalls in Danasan).

Located at the Center North of Cebu, Danao City, Waterfalls in Danasan might be a little rough to go to as of now but is definitely fun if you are up for an adventure. Before hopping on to a bus or driving to Danasan, be sure to call or text 032-234-0773 or 09335869651 to reserve and arrange pick up point. Reservation personnel will ask for your preferred  pick up point, either  in  I.T park, SM or AYALA Mall (300PHP/passenger) or alternatively at the Danao Fishport or Danao church (200PHP/Passenger)minimum of 8 passengersIt takes approximately 2-3 hours drive from the city to Danasan.

Before starting the adventure, check in at the concierge first. Be sure to waterproof your gadgets with waterproof casing or tight sealed plastic. Be sure not to forget to bring liters of water and snacks. Wear something light and comfortable. Listen to what your guide has to say.

Monster truck carries 4!

And of course! Ecotour adventure wouldn’t be complete without the bumpy ride. Hold on tight cowboys coz this rodeo road trip would take about 30 mins.

When the road is too narrow for the tractors to pass, then we then trek to the falls. We would pass a small stream and a wooden bridge which is a very ideal location for photo shoots.

And finally the falls!

Your first step into the water is about hip level if you are my height, 5’10.” Usually locals do come here to relax and camp.

And on your second step, you would be completely be submerged and a great way to take a dip in cool fresh waterfall.

If you want to have  a swim on deeper water  you can swim on a deeper part. (Photo below)

Fresh water prawns and tilapyas are inhabiting this part of the fall but fishing http://mypharmacyexpert.com/generic-viagra-online/ is not allowed.

At the center part of the photo below, you can see  the mouth of the cave where you can also do rappelling. :p

“Jumping in strictly prohibited” as the guide says. The 3rd Step (photo below) is about 30 meters long and a deep of the same height. The guide mentioned  that someone tried to jump down the fall and ended up at the hospital. :(and the only safe way to get to the bottom of the waterfall is to use a trekking route which will take a few hours.

For more information and more adventures you can see  Rates and Packages or contact Telephone: 032-234-0773 or E-mail: info@danasanecoadventure.com

Special Thanks to: Sheila Herrero and March Tud-tud for the sponsored trip!
