With a spread of only the best dishes by the best chefs in the island, Kadaugan sa Mactan Food Festival has been a favorite yearly destination among Oponganons. Held where our national hero Lapu-lapu won the fight over the Spaniards led by Magellan, the feast is not only a celebration of great eats but also a commemoration of Mactan’s freedom and bravery of its people.
Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa, Imperial Palace, Plantation Bay, Crimson, Moevenpick and other Mactan resorts and restaurants are giving everyone a big treat with their line-up of their best dishes at unbelievably very affordable prices. All dishes priced at less than 100 bucks!
Here are a few of our our Kadaugan sa Mactan Food Festival 2014 recommendations.
Every year, I look forward to what Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa’s Kadaugan sa Mactan Food Festival spread. Today, they served Roasted Chicken, Pork Humba and Sautéed Beef with Vegetables in Oyster Sauce. My personal favorite dish at Shangri-La’s kiosk is the sautéed beef dish- quality tender beef with an awesome tasting sauce! All dishes priced at 85php per serving.
Sotto Grande’s Chicken Buffalo Wings (50php per serving) seemed to be another favorite among this year’s diners.
There was also a good number of people lining up at Ku-Kai’s Japanese Restaurant’s kiosk for their tempura (40php each).
The very interesting Iba Pie (40php) at Alta Village’s kiosk is another best seller this year. Though I find it a bit sweet, the taste of the iba and the cinnamon did go well. If the Iba would had been tartier and was baked with less sugar to highlight the iba taste, then it would be perfect! Nonetheless it was intriguingly enough, so I recommend it for our readers to try. Then tell us what you think. 🙂
And don’t forget to drop by the souvenirs section where you can get a personalized festival shirts below 200php, personalized Cebu keychains from 10-30php, ref magnets and more. 🙂
Kadaugan sa Mactan Food Festival 2014 is happening until April 27, 2014 from 6PM to 9PM.
