Flying in to Cebu is Chef Danny Dela Cuesta to entice guests of Cafe Marco with his version of Ilocos flavors and delicacies. Marco Polo have been bringing in different tastes and flavors from around the Philippines and from around the globe to Cebu to let Cebuanos and tourists have a foretaste of what that region has to offer and making Cebu a melting pot of culture and flavors! Ilocos Food Festival at Cafe Marco runs from April 8 to 17, 2011.
For appetizer, hankered on “dilis at mani” (Sweetened Anchovies with peanuts). Makes a great beer muncher!
One of my personal favorites is the local Ilocano taste of “Empanada Batac.” Meat and veggies wrapped in an orange crisp dough cloak.
Another Ilocos flavor that delighted us is the Crispy Dinardaraan. Pork meat with intestines in pig’s blood. Dinuguan Ilocos style! numnum!
Cafe Marco’s Ilocos Food Festival Launch was graced by Chef Danny Dela Cuesta and Leyte Governor Imee Marcos and Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia.
