The low temperature, the crisp smell of pines and the fresh breeze put Dahilayan Forest Park on my favorite places to cool out and recharge. Taking a less- than- an- hour- flight from Mactan International Airport to Laguindingan Airport Cagayan de Oro, then hopping on the 90-minute Saturday Zipzone Shuttle ride at Coffeworks Divisoria CDO jumpstarts your weekend adventure at the sightly Dahilayan Forest Park. Wayfaring through Camp Phillips and Del Monte Pineapple Plantation makes the ride to the property a real treat as well!
Nestled at the foot of Mount Kitanglad 4,700 feet above sea level, Dahilayan Forest Park is more than just a place to relax but also a destination for adventure junkies. Try the Forest Luge, Zorb, ATV and Buggy Trail Adventure at the Forest Park. And just a few minutes away is Dahilayan Adventure Park where you can try Asia’s longest dual Zipline and a 120ft free fall into a manmade lake at the Dropzone.
Checked-in for a night with blogging best friends, our original plan was to try some of the adventure attractions at both the Forest and Adventure Parks during our weekend stay, but ended up just chilling at our porch and strolling along the pine trail. Tehee. We’d stay a bit longer on our next visit for sure.
Dahilayan Forest Park is located at Brgy. Dahilayan, Manolo Fortich Bukidnon Philippines. Contact them at 0917-715-4399.
For Zipzone Dahilayan, contact 09228801319.
And with temperature dropping on an average of 19 degrees (Celsius), I got to wear one of my sweatshirts! Teehee ^_^
When visiting Dahilayan, don’t miss to do a night stroll and witness how postcard-y the property is. Also, enjoy a pack of freshly harvested strawberries (100php a pack) and sweet corn (100php a pack) sold by vendors stationed just outside the lobby. And of course, a plate of ribeye at Del Monte Gold Club House’s restaurant is always a good idea!
How to get there:
- If you are driving – From Cagayan de Oro, take the Cagayan de Oro-Bukidnon Highway, turn right on Alae crossing. From the crossing, enter Camp Philips, through their soccer field and traverse through the Del Monte pineapple plantation road. Just continue until you reach Dahilayan Forest Park. You will see several directional signs along the way to guide you. Takes about 90-minute drive.
- Public Commuting. From Agora Terminal, hop on a PUJ or van bound for Camp Philips (jump-off point). Fare is 50PhP-60PhP. Then hire a habal-habal from Camp Philips to Dahilayan Forest and Adventure Park. Usually costs 300PhP-500PhP roundtrip.
- ZipZone Shuttle Ride (Available Only on Saturdays). For just 350PhP roundtrip, ride the air-conditioned bus to Dahilayan Ecopark from Coffeeworks Divisoria CDO. First come first served for walk in customers, so I advice you book ahead for sure seats. Contact 09228801319 for inquiries.
