It’s easy to get stressed out from our daily routines, specially that Cebu has conventionally become a fast-paced metro. Traffic for one gives us daily headache from the hassle of getting up earlier than usual, giving us less time in doing things that benefit our physical and mental health because we are in a constant rush.
It’s good that once in a while we get reminded of how important wellness is. This year’s celebration of Global Wellness Day, Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa had again put together a program that surely give one a breather from the daily stress, and do nothing but take in the good stuff that benefits ones overall health. Yes, it doesn’t take one day to become fully healthy, but a day to ease off is already overwhelming and somehow pushes us to be consistent in achieving our fitness goals.
The overnight celebration last 9-10 of June 2017 was my second time attending Global Wellness Day at Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa, and the recent program consisted of sunset yoga, water aerobics and seaside zumba. The activities may sound to have less impact on the body, but wait the next day and see which parts of your body will become a bit sore. Haha. But to prevent, or atleast lessen the muscle aches, be sure to warm up and stretch before doing any exercise. 😉
The food were also in theme, as the chefs had prepared a hearty spread thoughout the GWD stay – from our coursed dinner at Acqua, buffet breakfast at Cowrie Cove and our sumptuous lunch at Tides. All were deliciously healthy. 😉
The GWD experience at Shangri-La’s Mactan Roersot & Spa was lively and energizing, and is truly something that I’ll be looking forward to the next year, as it didn’t just give me a relaxing retreat, but also gave me inspiration to push for holistic wellness.
