After watching the movie Hercules, it was my never ending craving for milk tea and coffee that led my dad, iLearners confrere Lui, consociate food blogger Marco and I, capping the night at this 3 day old cafe in Banilad with movie blurbs, travel plans and sharing some good points on coffee and tea over icy coffee blends.
Cafe Talk has a similar structure with Korean cafes Cafe Tiala, Cafe Namoo and Cafe Noriter. Cafe Talk implemented the same blueprint as the other Korean cafes I cited – 2 level configuration which is brilliant, maximizing the space to accommodate more customers. With the arched windows and fancy porch grills, the interior decorating looks like those classic haciendas in Spain or customary villas in Venice we see in magazines and movies. And toting up those exhaust fans at the private cubicles solves one problem we always complain about in the other cafes, now making the cool air circulate around the exclusive areas as well.
We ordered Iced Macchiato and Jave Chip Frappuccino. Both drinks are refreshing but a bit too sweet. The Iced Macchiato was too milky that you can’t even taste the espresso. The Java Chip was chocolatey and bits of chocolate are noticeable but again no hint of coffee. (Bill for the 2 drinks, 305php)
The baristas and waitresses are really smiling, accommodating and really friendly. Just hope the coffee blends would improve and be better as they close in to their grand launch. Wouldn’t hesitate to drop by for another visit though and try the other Cafe Talk offerings on the menu real soon. ^_^
