December 1, 2013. AirAsia Zest, the Filipino Low Cost Carrier together with AirAsia- Worl’s Best Low Cost Carrier, launched its first international flight from Mactan Cebu International Airport to Kuala Lumpur. Operated by an all-Filipino crew, Flight Z2 187 left Mactan International Airport at 6:00AM and arived at Kuala Lumpur’s Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) at 9:50AM with 128 guests.

A traditional water-dousing ceremony welcomed AirAsia Zest return flight from Kuala Lumpu when the Airbus A320 touched down in Mactan Cebu International Airport at 2:50PM.

“Today’s inaugural flight is only the first among the many new routes that AirAsia Zest will launch in Cebu. “Our Cebu to KL Flight provides yet another link for Filipinos and Malaysians in the areas of trade and commerce but more importantly, we hope to draw tourists from Malaysia to our amazing beaches and natural wonders in Cebu, Puerto Princesa, Davao, Cagayan de Oro amongst others. If we are able to draw even a fraction of Malaysia’s 25 million annual tourists, it will have significant impact on our tourist arrival record, which translates to more jobs, more food on the table, more opportunities for every Filipino,” Caneba added.

“Staying true to our commitment to give more choices, better value and enhanced service, AirAsia Zest is pleased to announce that we are adding two international routes in Cebu. Starting December 19, we will start servicing Cebu to Kota Kinabalu and mid-December we will fly to Incheon South Korea,” Caneba added.

AirAsia Zest flies 6:00AM daily from Cebu to Kuala Lumpur (Flight Number Z2 0187, Aircraft A320, Arrives in KL at 9:50AM) and 10:50AM daily from Kualua Lumpur to Cebu (Flight Number Z2 0188, Aircraft A320, Arrives in Cebu at 2:50PM).

AirAsia Zest starts flying to Kota Kinabalu or KK this December 19, 2013. Flights every Tuesdays, Thursday and Saturdays. Flight Z2 191 from Cebu to Kota Kinabalu departs at 10:05AM (Aircraft A320) and BKI (Kota Kinabalu) to Cebu departs 12:30noon and arrives at 2:25PM.

AirAsia Zest expanded its domestic operations in Cebu with new daily flights to Davao and Cagayan de Oro and four times weekly to Puerto Princesa in Palawan.
