Celebrating the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations and 150 years of consular ties of the Netherlands and the Philippines, Active Vista presents a Dutch-Filipino Film Festival showcasing the best of Dutch and Filipino films. Reflecting the strong commitment the two nations share to promote human rights, this festival will inspire sustainable innovations to address the global challenges ahead. The Dutch-Filipino FIlm Festival transpires on August 20 until August 27, 2016.
The festival softly opens Saturday morning with an educators’ forum where more than 200 educators will convene for the special preview of the new historical film, Hermano Puli, a talk on the life of Hermano Puli and the discussion on how to engage the Filipino Youth in lessons of history and make them realize the deeds of our heroes. Dubbed as “Heroisn in the Time of the Millennials,” the forum and film preview will take place at Marcelo Fernan Press Center on August 20 (Saturday) from 8:00AM- 11:00AM.
The grand launch is happening at 5 in the afternoon on the same day at Robinsons Movieworld, Cebu City with the free viewing of two preselected award-winning movies and goes on until the 26th of August with three movie titles to be shown at the University of San Carlos Talamban Campus.

Active Vista also brings “Bayani Ba ‘To? Heroism X Pagibig.” A roadshow that examines the complexities of the freedom to love through the story of Hermano Puli, an almost forgotten hero who led a rebellion against Spanish rule to fight for freedom of expression, religion and assembly.
