When 3PM strikes, it’s been a habit for us Filipinos to partake in an afternoon nibble -a quick grub a few hours before we wrap up for work or school. Many of us turn to a cup of tea or coffee for an extra boost of energy to stay sharp for the remaining hours of the shift. But what’s good to pair with our favorite afternoon beverages?
I recently whiffed a bite of lace cookies I got from a weekend food fair in a Mandaue City mall, which forthwith got me buying a 200g pack – a week supply to match my afternoon cup of coffee. Loved it, so thought of sharing this pairing with everyone. 😉
Lace Cookies from who?
These delicious thin, crispy cookie treats are baked in the house of Arya. And nope, not from Arya Stark’s home but from the self-taught baker Eileen Fe Lozano. Arya is her adorable one-year old daughter, who bears the name of her baking business, “Arya’s Cakes and Pastries.” Barely two-months in operation, Arya’s Cakes and Pastries has already been making a buzz with her main offering -Arya’s Lace Cookies. The brand aspires to share their family’s favorite desserts to Cebuanos at prices that are inexpensive, yet gratifying to the taste. Aside from these delicious lace cookies, Arya’s Cakes and Pastries also sells muffins and soon, cinnamon rolls drizzled with either cream cheese frosting or chocolate glaze. Can’t wait!
