2011 Collection: GOMA BELLA
GOMA BELLA is a fragmented portmanteau of the Filipino flower-name “Gumamela” (Hibiscus): featuring “Goma” and “Bella” – both Spanish-translated words for “gum” and “lady”, respectively.
Goma Bella is a lady discovery of Yves Camingue inspired by the roseate tones of a Boracay sunset, 70s sensuality and icons Bianca Jagger and former model Marie Helvin. The modern Goma Bella lady is graceful, naturally radiant, pleasing and gregarious.
This is the brand’s most “feminine” collection to date, featuring movement; billowy silhouettes and all color, with just a pair of neutrals. The radical-unusualness comes in the collaboration of differently textured chiffon and hues. TRANSPARENCY andMOVEMENT come into the limelight. Body figures going beyond a small would not worry since the dresses have an elastic wised-waist band to adjust to their own figures.
Goma Bella succeeded the Yves Identify’s Holiday 2010 collection entitled Scuave (scuba + scuave): an urban-cool mix of the Technicolor 80s, the band Kraftwerk and sleek sportswear, especially scuba diving.
