If you’re not from Cebu or can’t speak or understand the city’s vernacular(which is bisaya/cebuano) then you’d be clueless what “ilaputi” means. It simply means “sa kanila Puti” in Tagalog or “there at Puti’s” in English. “Puti”  is Jan Rodiguez‘s nickname, the owner of ilaputi and the creator of the entire line up of ilaputi‘s dishes and drinks.

Entering ilaputi you would notice their cozy ambiance with contemporary details and interiors. ilaputi offers casual gourmet dishes which are only prepared once ordered to give each customers fresh and quality dishes. Another thing that you’d notice when dining or chilling at ilaputi is their great line up of songs on their playlist.

iLuvCebu.com team was invited by Jon for dinner to give us a treat of ilaputi‘s bestsellers and new offerings. Though me and my friends are  frequent at ilaputi, I just kept on ordering my ilaputi favortites “Stroganov” and “Saigon Adobo”.

Jon’s dinner invite was a perfect opportunity to try other ilaputi offerings!

Vietcondobo

ilaputi’s Vietcondobo. Lemongrass beef adobo with cilantro pesto, chili garlic, red onions, pickled cucumbers on whole wheat baguette. Price: php 210.

Sakana Tempura

ilaputi’s Sakana Tempura. Panko -crusted cream dory fillets with homemade teriyaki sauce with Japanese egg infused stir fried rice. Price 200php. Sakana Tempura is the fave ilaputi dish of Mikio – the award winning film maker from Dreamline Productions who also joined us for dinner.

Grilled Chinese Chicken Jambalaya

ilaputi’s Grilled Chinese Chicken Jambalaya. Five-spiced chicken breast fillet off the grill, hungarian and chinese sausages and peking stir-fried rice. Priced at 220php.

Mexcebuano Chicken

ilaputi’s Mexcebuano Chicken. Overnight marinated chicken breast fillet, dry rubbed with Mexican spices. grilled with home made barbeque sauce served with yellow rice. Light Meal – 200php. Full Meal 230php

Grilled Chikari

ilaputi’s Grilled Chikari. Tender skinless, boneless chicken breast off-the-grill and tossed with ilaputi’s special curry sauce served with tomato-basil rice pilaf.  Price 220php.

Saigon Adobo

ilaputi’s Saigon Adobo.  Lemongrass tenderloin adobo tips, garlic dried-shrimp-frye fried rice and nuoc nam. One of my ilaputi’s personal favorite, so as with iLuvCebu.com co writers Edd and Nike.
